OK, I'm p!sssed off with picking up these scammers now and reporting/flagging them and being IGNORED

UPDATE - Direct Download has stepped in and banned the offenders - many thanks!!

I'm a paid up member, I expect to have scammers of this level dealt with

Since before new year, I've been reporting and flagging a number of scammer OPS, all spreading the same crap, all probably the same user behind it.

The current issue is that these fools (suspect 1 person) have now tested the water, they know they've all been caught, flagged and reported, but absolutely sweet F-A has been done, so they're pumping the downloads full of this sh!te!!

They add a file, social.png, which is actually a php file into an images folder
All the same identical infection, all carrying links (even one pushing on thread!!) to getnulledscripts site - all loaded with infections
One of them even provided an infected mirror!!


I have to have found and/or flagged and/or reported probably over a hundred now in this time frame

new users are getting added, they even post on each others threads!!

They even have the nerve to ask for REP - W4NKERS!!

DETECTION:

From thread viewing - screenshot of plugin/theme then a bulkyfiles link and ask for rep

After download - look for textfile referring to getnulledscripts site - also check images folders for social.png, approx 31K size

Cleaning:

The simplest method is to open the social.png file with a text editor, such as notepad, and delete all contents and save

The better way is to delete the file and also the line that calls the file from the main theme php file or functions.php file if a plugin (usually last line of file), it will look like this:

My time is, and has been for a while, quite limited - so can't check, flag, clean and re-share as easily right now.

ACTION:

Anyone that fancies visiting some of these users and reporting the infected threads, feel free, it may get admins attention at last!!
