SEO help! Have an SEO scenario along with a google places question!
I'm opening up a small cab company (a few cars) in a city of about 100,000 people. I will have no office or physical location. My plan is to use 2 phone numbers and make 2 different websites with 2 different business names. I think it's going to be critical to register both websites/business names in Google places. I have numerous business friends that will allow me to use their commercial address and put a suite # after it. Will that work? Will I be able to register with Google places? Do you recommend another approach? In any search engine, there's barely any competition. Most business is going to come from people searching from there phones for a cab service. Since there isn't very much competition I don't think I need to put too much money into SEO. I don't have very much experience in SEO, can you point me in the right directions? Given that scenario (not much competition in a small city), what would be your strategy for getting both sites to the top of each search engine. Thank you so much and I appreciate all help!!!

I think your way is quite good and it should be no problem with registering on Google place. However, it does not help SEO, because now you have 2 website, and of course, SEO 2 website need double effort

That's the thing, there's very little seo competition so it shouldn't take to much, right? With "taxi in ****" there is 4 that come in google places. None have a website. "cab in ****" there is only one. What comes to the top are yellow page, dexknows, and yelp listings! That being said, any further recommendations?

As youve got low competition, i would suggest doing the following:
1. Make sure your on page seo is done properly. Just search on this site and you will find instructions on how to do it or just google it;
2. Install all-in-one seo and fill in the relevant fields - its quite easy to do;
3. Head over to fiverr and buy a gig todo some high pr backlinking for you.
4. Set up google placss - quite straight-forward or via fiverr.
5. You might also want to consider doing targetted fb ads for your businesses.

If you get stuck you can PM me and i will help you at no cost.

All the best.

What i did for a friend was rank you tube videos for every city, then i made a graphic with his service and number and used that for when you add your own thumbnail pic and in the title. so when people searched with out even having to click on anything they would just see his phone number and service and cheap to do.

gixxer2012's search is for natural search results and doesn't interfere with google places (focus on citations), it's not harm doing both, because sometimes google places ranking come rather slow....

Let me help guide you in a good direction. Google is also basing their places and such using citations in the cities and local directories. Ensure you keep the exact same Name Address and Phone for all the listings. Using the same categories and varied keywords. That should help ensure you are within the (side pack) of maps. Which is basically a free 1st page google listing.

Well when i add pbn's i out rank google places, when there is space above, with web sites.
I have seen many use these services
https://www.whitespark.ca/citation-build...on-service
http://www.thehoth.com/local/
But the videos work great, I have made separate youtube accounts made the videos different lengths of time so they are not the same. And i take the top 2 spots so all you see is his phone number on the thumbnails and titles. People are lazy and they call the top number they see, he gets a lot of mobile calls from it.
My friend has citations ranked but has little traffic from them, i don't know if the just get over looked? He gets it more from his site ranked and youtube spots.

RE:
ranking 2 other than place listing is really nothing, if you invest time and good knowledge, might be able to rank 7-11 spots.
