Moz is known to be preaching white hat bs that isn't always necessarily true. It's a good guideline but they'll tell you not to do something (even though it works) only because it's frowned upon by google for giving you unfair advantage by google's "pay us for ads to profit" standards.

So if you want to stick to white hat only, moz is good and their content is sound. If you're mixing in grayhat with blackhat use moz only as a reference point and not to base the actual seo strategy on.
