It uses it's own themes to make the video. There are only a few available, and the decent ones need to be purchased as upsells.

But the biggest issue is that you can't make your own themes, so you are held ransom by the developer!

If someone it's looking for something like animoto, this one won't be the alternative but it can create decent videos (better than those that you can make with some horrible slideshow tools - starting with microsoft windows movie maker).

Good:

- Themes are not bad (can't say it's a crap) and you can apply a different theme to each slide .

Bad:

- Can't create HD videos.
- Can't do voiceover (but can add a mp3).
- Some themes go too fast.

Just my 2 cents.
