RE: REQ: How Much Should I Charge for a Website? What do you Think?
I agree w/ PaCoe when I built sites as a freelancer my rate was about $50 per hour so I would estimate how long it would take and base it on this. Now I was also building the frontend of some fairly high traffic websites for business with more money. I also had over 5+ years of experience as a developer where I was paid $30-50 per hour so I based my rate on that. On your own you also have health insurance etc. But today, it's so easy to get a site w/ WordPress that you can't charge these rates. Get a few sites in your portfolio for cheap and then charge more. I built my portfolio building friends sites and that gave me something to show to people. Good luck!

Find 3 local companies offering websites, choose a random business and ask for quotation for a specific website for this business. See how many hours it will take you to do it yourself. Calculate your price per hour and make your price list based on this.
Offer discount and/or free bonus for testimonials.

Thank you!! I did that yesterday, I messaged few people who are designers and they sent me their quote and I will base my price on that.

Also, I will offer Facebook ads marketing,....having good ideas so far.....I will implement them.
