Question (need advice)
Hey,

So I just scored a gig with this Ecom company. They do like $200k+ in revenue a year.

Now, they need me to make facebook ads. Specifically fb video ads that are disruptive in nature.

These are text ads with matching background and music that's pleasant and matching with the copy.

So the copy is extremely important.

There are plenty of products to promote.

My question: Are there any courses, resources I can refer to to get myself up to speed immediately? I need to join their team immediately and produce awesome copy from the get go.

Looking for disruptive, story based Facebook video ads that grab the market on their news feed, pull them into the ad and get the click to the lander.

I would really be grateful if you respond immediately upon seeing this as my position in my company depends on you taking the time out to respond. You could make someone's day and earn good karma instantly.

Thank you for reading!

Best.

RE: Question (need advice)

@godisdog: First of all, congratulations on your exciting new gig!

I've got to ask, though, have you done anything like this before?

First off, depending on how long this eCom company has been around, 200 grand a year in revenues is not a lot of money ... so it could be an upstart. You did refer to this as a "gig" (which suggests it is a one-time deal; like something you were hired to do off Elance, for example).

What scares me is that you said your position in your company depends on someone from this forum responding to your request --- well, that's not good.

Never rely on the goodness of strangers for your livelihood, bro. You've got to do your own due diligence and prepare for the task ahead.

Did you even present samples of your work to these guys?

Or did they just tell you what they wanted without any vetting of your ability to deliver?

So, waiting on someone here to give you help means every day no one comes through means one less day you have to complete the project and you may need to put a lot of work into it.

Also, what troubles me is the word "disruptive." Unless that is a new buzz-word in Facebook advertising circles, disruptive is not a good thing. It is usually used in the context of creating a disturbance or being outright annoying.

But again, I'm not into social media marketing so I'm talking out of school.

If you are looking for some guidance on how to create Facebook video ads that are effective and get results, I can point you to a few places you can start with to "do the research."

Try these for starters ...

.

Based on a few of the links I found, Neil Patel seems to be the "go-to" authority on Facebook video advertising.

There are a lot of his products on this forum you can download (assuming the links are still good). I would start with a forum search using his name or facebook video ads and download whatever you can get. In some cases, you may need to be a VIP member to get the downloads.

You can also get a few downloads on video marketing in general and Facebook ads specifically from the site shown in the image below:

I also wrote a quick-reading guide on a few resources you can use to download guru-style internet marketing courses. I can't post that link or it could be taken down, but if you want that, use a valid, off-forum email address to send me a request for it. Put the subject line: LAYNA'S LIST and send it to my forum username at Gmail.

I'm not sure that any of this will be of value to you.

Let's hope someone who has actual experience with creating Facebook videos that convert will come along to help.

Again, all the best with your new gig!

Thanks
