RE: [QUESTION]How i can get positve +5 review for my new book?
@miguelitoxrox: Seems like you've vanished from the very thread you started. Whether you're lurking in the background reading this or you're away from the forum for a stretch, I'm still trying to help.

Below, I am posting a link to some e-books I recently shared on BBHF so you can get them if you haven't already.

Among them, you will find a few helpful titles that can assist in building an author's platform (as both Ricky P's and my post both mentioned as critically important to getting exposure for your writings).

At least one of the books will guide you in building a fan base that you can cultivate over time to become your most rabid readers. That's a great way to get people talking about your book, naturally. Then you won't have to go hunting for reviews; just set up an area on your author's blog or website where readers can post comments; read the reviews regularly and pull the best ones to use to promote the book (ex: you can add a couple of sentences from the best reviews in press releases, media kits, or whatever you're doing to get interviews, book store signings, social media advertising, etc.).

You said that your book is new but you didn't say how new ... because that could explain why you haven't gotten a lot of feedback for it (or, at least, any +5 reviews).

You didn't say whether your book is fiction or nonfiction. Methods you use to promote it could vary based on which category the book falls under. For example, if your book is non-fiction, you may be able to use one or more public observances (calendar dates that commemorate or observe certain people or occasions) as a tie-in to promote it. So that means you can promote it more heavily on dates leading up to the observance date. But that method may not work as well with a fiction book.

And although I posed the question, you did not say what actions you have taken to get +5 reviews. Reviews don't grow on trees and especially +5 reviews will be difficult to come by unless your book is really deserving. Even then, you've got to make it easy for readers to give you feedback.

That said, the most important thing you can do right now is to take a good, hard look at your book. If it is as good as the level of reviews you believe it deserves, you will get them in time. But if you're looking for them right away, you'd better set up some kind of platform where readers can submit them. It is more important to get steady feedback so that you can pull up the positive ones to use over a stretch of time rather than get a small number of good reviews at once and then no more.

This will be the last I post to this thread. For one, I don't want to wear out my welcome here but, moreso, I'm not sure that you're seeing this and I don't like to waste my time. It took energy and brain cells to find the links I posted. I am thankful to all the BBHF members who kindly thanked and repped me for what I posted here, but it baffles me that you're missing-in-action.

It becomes frustrating when people flit around on the forum like fireflies. They post a message asking for help (or send a PM asking for a product download) but no sooner than the work is done ...POOF! They disappear! Never to be heard from again. So in the end, it's difficult to know if what I contributed even helped.

Follow through is a very admirable character trait, whether it's working to get (deserving) +5 reviews from your readers or simply getting back to people who replied to some issue you solicited help with.

Thanks

RE: [QUESTION]How i can get positve +5 review for my new book?
I wouldn't worry about one single person, and instead hope that some or all of the 350 people who viewed the thread saw value in it. If you see it in the perspective of the larger picture, it is much more satisfying because it does make a difference to those who intend to use the information.

Members here may have different expectations, perhaps in this case, a magic button to get a ton of 5 star reviews(which doesn't exist)!

RE: [QUESTION]How i can get positve +5 review for my new book?
Thank you, RickyP. And you're right --- the whole purpose in sharing is to help those who will benefit from it. As much as I try to ignore the bad apples, it taxes your spirit how people can lurk around at will and take value without adding value. I suppose what pisses me off more is that the forum admins are complicit in it.

@All: I know some of you may take a moment to get around to the newer shares and by the time you make it there, the links are gone. So, if you haven't already seen them, I'd like to point you to the latest of my book-related posts so you can get the download ASAP. BBHF members generally don't leave mirrors like they used to.

The posts below will be a helpful solution to several of the points discussed on this thread about getting authentic, positive reviews for your book.

There are more elements involved in creating a bestseller, of course, but these 3 shares will give you a good running start in the right direction. You can break it down like this...

* Having a book cover design that attracts attention and "speaks" to the reader, making them want to know more about what's between the covers;

* Setting up an author's platform where you have a visible presence and get to interact with your readers to establish rapport;

* Having a book with strong central characters and plot-lines that make sense in order to pull your readers into the building drama and make them care about outcomes;

Here they are:

@entejo1437: You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the reps added.

@All: I wish that more and more people who I've never heard of before come out from the BBHF shadows to say "Hello" every once in a while. Not necessarily to "thank" me but I'd just like to meet some of the members I don't know.

Thanks

RE: [QUESTION]How i can get positve +5 review for my new book?
Thank you, Layna61524 and RickyP.
It's one of the top threats about getting reviews for kindle ebook.
This should be sticky on the Kindle section.
In the vast ocean of recycling garbage-spun Kindle publishing courses, it would be wonderful to have a threat about the best courses on Kindle according to both your experience.
The vast amount of information on the forum overwhelms me.
The hardest part is finding the courses/resources that do have value.

RE: [QUESTION]How i can get positve +5 review for my new book?

@sergio88: Thank you for posting. Let me ask, did you mean to type "thread" instead of "threat"? I believe you did but I thought I'd ask anyway.

@kiranote: I'm not sure if your question is for sergio88 or me (it looks like you pasted his post as a quote).

But if you're open to suggestions, I'll give you mine...

The first thing you should do is get a crystal clear idea of what it is you want to do. I can't recommend a specific Kindle course because only YOU can decide on the value of the content as it relates to your needs.

I can, however, suggest ways to FIND some free-to-download Kindle courses. That part is easy...

You should always start here at BBHF. I'm sure you've done that but it helps to do a quick SEARCH POSTS query using the keyword you need to get the latest shares on that topic. For example, typing: Kindle publishing or KDP in the SEARCH POSTS field is a good start. You should look for shares that were posted after mid-year 2020 to current or the course may be a tad outdated.

If you want to search outside of BBHF, go to some of the free course download sites.

You can find those sites by searching Google for "sites similar to" ones you already use and like. I can't post the name of a site here or it will be blocked. But if you already use one of these sites, ask Google to find more of them for you.

* You can do a search on duckduckgo.com using these keywords:

Or one using these keywords...

* Browse the links that come back on the search engine. Make sure you're viewing links that go to those two sites. After you read the course description, scroll down the page to look for mega.nz links; unless you can use premium links like Nitroflare and [Reported by Members as premium hosting that SUCK! Use MEDIAFIRE or MEGA.NZ :) !!!], etc., then you will need a mega.nz link. Pay attention, too, if any password is needed to get into the files you download. I believe that on these two sites, no password is required.

And, lastly, as I just mentioned...

* You can search Google for sites like your favorite free course site. In the example below, just substitute the URL of the course download site where I placed the asterisk/star symbol in the search query below:

sites similar to *

When you find a course you like, download it and start checking out the content.

The hardest part is deciding which course is best for what you want to do.

So you will need to ask yourself what it is you want to accomplish with your new self publishing project.

Do you plan to create...

- Fiction or non-fiction?
- A single book?
- A short-read book?
- A book series? (And while a book series begins with a single book, knowing you're doing a series will require you to hold back a lot of detail and set things up in the first book to unfold over time, as the plot thickens over the course of the remaining books in the series.
- Low-content books?
- Low-content for adults or children?

There are all kinds of questions you need to answer. Only then can you begin to piece together the type of Kindle course you need.

NOTE: The course URL I used in the images above are for illustration/example purposes only. Things change and websites are no different. A site I use in a post may not operate as I describe, cease to offer free downloads or may be taken offline by the time you get to read the post. So keep in mind that I use sites in my images as examples only.

I don't want to morph this "Getting Positive Reviews" thread into a completely different topic, but these are the actions I recommend to help you overcome "overwhelm" and begin to take positive baby steps.

Seeing that you mention overwhelm and being "lost in this Kindle space," I also suggest you take a moment to quiet your mind of all the ideas running through it.

I know that the pressure to get something up and going can be stressful. Just relax and give yourself the needed time to go through the course(s) you choose so that you can learn from and retain the knowledge. You can't learn (or earn) when a thousand ideas are competing for your attention and boggling your mind.

Take a deep breath and focus.

Answer the questions you need to get started towards your KDP project. Only then can you decide which course is the best one for you.

Unfortunately, there's no cheat-sheet or quick-fix for doing that. So you will need to read through the course descriptions on each download page, paying attention to the course module titles. If each course part doesn't address the areas you need help with or the topics you're planning your KDP projects for, then dismiss it as a selection. Move on to the next KDP course.

I hope this helps. I have a tendency to get long-winded in my writing and that's the last thing you need (information overload).

So I'll stop right here --- but let me know if this helps.

Thanks
for reading!
