Post to unlock (potential issue)

Hi, admin I have noticed for some Udemy courses link we need to post to unlock.

This will create unnecessary spam as new users or any user will just post to get the course

In the end, all the outdated course will be bumped up to the top. This will cause problem.

New course should be at the top.

Many thanks GoWork, you are totally right about a potencial issue with blocking or locking coupons; this could generate unnecesary spam and bumps in the Udemy section! :( This will be not a good idea in Udemy Section! ;)

Nevertheless, this is not a new issue, we have the same big issue with a lot of bumps as spam with outdated courses too, since many years!!! :(

Remember that blocking content was NOT the idea of us as sharers, but that was an optional proposal by our respected mods. Nevertheless they are working in a better solution! Many thanks for that! A "thanks button" will be definitely a better solution to our community, than blocking content!

And remember that we as sharers are ONLY sharing free courses and coupons WITHOUT LOCKS since MANY YEARS ago. So, we are not blocking or creating any spam or bumps, since MANY YEARS ago!


--------- 3 Reasons why we did a temporal test blocking in 1 day some coupons (although we will not do it again for the moment):

1. The moderators proposed that option in our community as Smithnowt said well and the majority perhaps ignores it! That should be proof enough that we have no interest other than the disinterested desire to share to our bros and sis, not for money (we do not receive any money), only by grace and love to our community! 2. People wrote by error asking to unblock coupons that WAS NOT BLOCKED; because they saw a message blocked in the SIGNATURE of the sharers and members and NOT because of any BLOCKED COUPON. That also happen a lot in the last days!!!

For example the sharer bs00001 did NOT block ANY coupon:

3. Then, because we saw that people thought that coupons was blocked, and as the moderators proposed to protect our important content: we wanted to try to improve our community by protecting a couple of coupons (as a test only). But immediately in reaction of the great opposition we had, and because there are also good concerns that this might not be the best solution, the again we decided to stop doing it, the same day! ;)


--------- Also in my defense as a sharer in Udemy Section:

1. For the moment, I will not block the coupons that I share, because I don't know if this is the best solution. I don't want to make life difficult to our good brothers and sisters who are many, who are grateful, who freely give reps when possible, who really appreciate us with their respect; only because those few members that are very ungrateful, who NEVER give ANY thanks or reps; as trolls, leachers or bots! ;)

Nevertheless, if the moderators decide in the near future to block all coupons in this section or in a new VIP section as Rasur proposed or in any other solution; as they decide, then I will totally support their decision, as our authorities that we have to respect, always! :)

2. We really value much more than reps: the respect and gratitude that we receive from a lot of members who truly appreciate the love we have for our community sharing many good courses since some years ago; regardless of whether we have different positions or arguments, talking always with respect and gratitude! :)

3. Ok, let me share in peace some more courses, without locks and blocks! And not only without tags that block courses but without the block of bad influence by negative people that block and discourage our sharers; and that is really a BIGGER BLOCK ISSUE!!! :(


--------- TIP:
A useful and practical solution to get the NEW COURSES in TOP of this Udemy Section, despite any bumped thread, is very easy:

Select the "SORT BY CREATION TIME" and press "GO" button (at the bottom of Udemy section); and do not use the default filter: "Sort by Last post".

But of course, this is only a partial solution to all these issues of bumped threads (since many years), because this will show only the new created threads and not the new posts with new links! ;)

Yes, what angelcrc7 explained was correct.

This is one of the options we are evaluating coz we tried to make the coupons "LIVE" longer so that those members who will join later due to different country time zones will have the chance to enroll in those courses if they are interested!

We welcome your constructive solutions that will help this forum section better.

this post to unlock thing will kill the udemy section. Many times people post new coupons to older courses and the thread goes up and we can get the coupons.Now with post to unlock it will not be possible because the thread with new coupon for an older course will be burned with other threads with people posting "post to unlock"

To all bros and sis,

Yes, this is the issue we face now. If this code has the ability to automatically show it coupons after 3 days, then is perfect!

We applied only on [GET] or [B] [GET] theread whereas [F4LT] thread remain unchanged.

Our intention is for the other members who later online in this forum, at least have a chance to enroll in the courses they are interested.

Everyday, I saw a lot of unknown members standing like a group of troops marching toward this section. After we posted fresh coupons, they read/grab it, standby again to wait for sharers to post another fresh coupons.

We keep looking the view count increasing and no apprerciation or reps obtained while less and less valid coupons keep reducing! Sometimes, it should be working fine within 3 days valid coupons but now some coupons not working after 2 days or even worst, 1 day only!

Of course, we must take into the considerations of limited coupons. But sharers noticed the cases are increasing and we do believed that some leechers and bot also responsible for this fault. Why? Once they grab it, they will publish on their own websites/FBs to attract their vistors where directly compete with members here to grab the working coupons!

After I attached the "Post to Unlock" function, I'd received some unknow members PM me to request for hidden code for them. I just realized "Wow, never seen this member's name before! Some member already joined this forums since 2012, but their reps were 0 meaning no contribution on this forum as well!"

And I keep receiving PM from the members saying the coupons already expired within 2 days! I was sad to see those members coz they already replied on that thread that they missed the course and willing to wait for next round. But, the coupon for next round still expired very fast, leaving those members walked away with dissapointment and empty hands! If you are the one, you will know their feelings coz some instructors hardly issued their coupon if the courses are high quality and demand!

If you all don't like this "Post to Unlock" function, sharers here got NO problems at all and can bring back to normal. We'd post whenever we found new valid coupons without attaching the "Post to Unlock" code!

So, let decide want to have a POLL here to choose either one option :
YES for "Post to Unlock" function
or
No for "Post to Unlock" function

OR ANY CONTRUCTIVE SUGGESTION AND NO PERSONAL ATTACK!

Once we collected the final result, we will discuss with MODs and they will decide based on our results. Once decided, no more U-Turn and will remain maintain until next CENTURY...

NOW, I'll take out the "Post to Unlock" function for my threads untill further notice or based on the results collected from members here!

Since the problem are the very limited coupons, maybe a simple way to avoid it is to create a new section (vip) for limited courses/coupons.

I don't understand is the "post to unlock" in the whole foum.
