No Etsy Business ! WHAT DO YOU THING???

I was not here since April - because I concentrated on my Etsy Shop - for nothing!

I have from 6. April till now 72 sales. And earned only about 276 Euro :(
There is also a Bestseller for mothers day. Now for fathers day (26.5.22) will be also. But it is much much work to personalize all the items. And imagine all the work I have done before for each Item.

My hourly wage is maybe about 0.10 cents an hour! This is no business! !
So I don't know if Etsy is good for me!! !!!

At Google for Google Adsense I have earned in December 2016 - 6.300,-- Euro! For Christmas-Pictures and Free Ecards Website. Without any work, without personalization Work! No work at all! Just put the Google Ads in! ! That was all!
Only to work a little bit on my Website.

So I think:
After Fathers Day - I will make a Website again with my own Shop - NOT ETSY! - and fill it again with Google Adsense.

9,90 Euro at Etsy for personalized Fathers Day Picture I get only 5,13 Euro !! Because of Etsy Fees and Etsy Google SEO Fees.
And I still have to pay taxes and everything!

No no!! This is NO business!!

????

you already know what you should do, goo where you see the biggest potential with less headache. If Etsy is not for you, then focus on your website. Etsy is really saturated and competitive. Atleast you know what can work for you. Go for it and upscale, make more products and market the hell out of it. Good luck and all the best!

Yeah, in my opinion, Etsy is very competitive/saturated when it comes to gifts for Fathers/Mothers Day stuff.
Especially, if you concentrate on the English speaking US market.
You made good money with Google Adsense before, so I imagine you can do it again and scale it up.

However, before you abandon Etsy altogether, could you maybe go more local and niche?
I take it you are in Berlin? So, why not create a mug and/or T-Shirt specifically for folk in Berlin and market it locally?
Instead though, stay away from personalisation and stick to popular appeal.

Might that work?
With a population of 3,500,000 it could just take the right design to make you big Euro's.

Just a thought.

Hi,

I have specialised at my German market - Ok maybe english speaking market is better? I live in Germany. Good Idea! I did not thought of it.

For Mothers day stuff Iam with one Item a BESTSELLER. But it is much work to personalize. And I get only the half of my price. :(

I have not only Mothers/Fathers Day stuff online at Etsy, but these sell now, at the moment.

Yes good Idea a Wall-Poster or Mug - Berlin-City or others...

And absolutely stay away from personalization! Any more!

Thank you much, yes Creative I am, I think, but I also want to earn some money.
With Etsy not really working at the moment.

Much work there.
And the listing is LOOONG LONG Listing!
I can in 24 hours only make 3 Listings there!

And personalization after buying is again more work!

And WOMAN Buyer - I do not need, and love, they are not like Man!
For Man on Mother's Day - there were ABSOLUTELY no Problems!

And Man give me reviews! Not one woman did it!!!
For Fathers day. No one! Women don't care!

Man buy it and all its done! Finito and good!

Woman.... oh god, so many chats for nothing !!!
Problems with women buyers!
My Chat is full.... I don't like it. Spending so much time for nothing.

Yet my wife can go into the same store for milk and come out half an hour later with four bags
of shopping and talk about the experience all the way home. LOL.
