Hey guys this is the exact method that has worked from me for page 1 rankings after the Penguin update and I can guarantee it works!Try it yourself.

Here are my steps :

Magic Button :

1. On page SEO + Unique Content ( this is a must)

2. Bulk Ping Free Indexer

3. Google Webmaster Tools (wait until 50% of site shows in index, then proceed to next step)

4. 20x MANUAL Web2.0 Creation to Home Page (Spun Content)

5. 10x MANUAL Web2.0 Creation to Inner pages (Spun Content)

6. 1000 AMR Blast to Web2.0's

7. XRUMER AMR URL's

8. BMD Xrumer AMR URLs

9. SB Blast > everything with all related keywords as possible.

10. Get all the links from ALL layers crawled, starting from the bottom layer. Use any service, or create your own feed. NO need for drip feeding. You start your ping process from the bottom up.

sounds like goo tips..but you didn't mentioned did you use KW diversification? or you just use one KW all d time?
