I agree and disagree. This is why:

1. basically you are saying is to write up a unique article, send it to article directories and then ping them with social sites. That does work, but you need a lot, and you normal only get decent results when you have an aged domain.

2. I you don't have an aged domain with good content, I would highly recommend that you use buffer sites to protect your money site.

3. Auto approve article directories are nice, but Google also knows which ones are AA and not. So you usually get better results ones that are not auto approve since usually they hold higher quality content.

4. It really depends on your keyword. Keyword research is everything in this game. Before any goes and tries to rank, spend a couple days on choosing the right keyword(s) first.

over complication. keyword1 and keyword2 stuff. target a single keyword always. No need to complicate things like this. just pick up a group of LSI from the google free keyword tool and make sure ur anchor text and the articles are around these LSI ..

This is almost the same as link wheel except that this is open and a bit lazier method than the pyramid. I also agree with blackhatops as this is not enough to rank high since the panda update article directories have lost much of its power. Aside from the fact that you are only using one article that leaves a lot of footprint for google to find.

method is linkwheel it is effective but it takes time to make a effective link wheel. if you use unqiue content in your linkwheel then you will be save from panda effect and will get linkjuice

This will never be effective if your website is new plus this would leave a big footprint to google if you are not using proxy. But on my opinion this is very dangerous if done in a week only.
