Godaddy rarely has any working renewal coupons. All of the above are expired except the $10 off which does not apply to renewal - check if you wish.

They have a promo going on new hosting right now 50% on economy and 55% on deluxe shared plans. The best bet is to purchase one of these plans and then migrate your stuff over the next couple of days. Do your websites 1 by 1 like I did.

Dear dccountrydz, scorpio, Gernavor thanks a lot for nice suggestions. I tried Scorpio's coupons but not working (still thanks for your time and efforts).

I think I go with Gernavor's advice. Just worried that if I buy a new hosting plan, does it make any trouble or may be godaddy does not like it this way...not sure..

Take comfort in knowing they wouldn't allow you to purchase additional hosting if it were a problem. Its usually a hassle to migrate sites to new hosting and persons often don't want want to move databases, domains, edit script configs and move files. The savings are worth it for shared hosting but not necessarily vps or dedicated depending on what you've done to the server.

Plus i've done it before, so move your sites before time runs out if you are up to it.

GD4418A is expired or inactive just like most renewal codes you'll find on google.

Godaddy mostly only gives discounts on new purchases these days to draw people in; after they have you, no more discounts unless you pay to join their discount club

Every since GoDaddy sold out to a company and India, it hasn't been worth anything. I've lost several of my domains because of their screwing around. One of which, I had since 1994 and during the transfer, they "lost" it. Now, it's being sold, although I have the receipts showing I've paid for the registration for two years.

It really is better to move to another service. Although I wouldn't recommend Enom or NameCheap because you may as well stay at GoDaddy. The one I'm with, there's no hassles. It's just $9/yr per domain. I never have to worry about them raising prices, playing games or doing something stupid. And all the ones I've worked with actually speak English!

The same for hosting, most host providers will transfer you over, because they want your business. If they won't or don't know how, then consider that as a Red Flag and don't go with them.

Check out the VPS services, being offered, here on BBHF. Lots of good deals and they are usually more than happy to transfer everything for you.

Be careful with GoDaddy, if you have to change any contact information. This freezes up your account for 60 days. Although you can contact them to have them lift this restriction. It's just another of their silly little games they like to play.

If you don't need to change your contact info, then don't.

1) Go to new provider ask them if they will transfer your website
2) Purchase your hosting service
3) Provide them with the information requested for transferring your website
4) Change your NameServer with Godaddy or whomever you're with
5) Transfer completes in about 48hrs max but I've had them transfer within three hours

If you're also changing your domain from Godaddy...
1) Decide who you're new service provider will be
2) Purchase the service under "transfer domain"
3) Login to your Godaddy account
4) Click on your domain, you want to transfer - find "Transfer Authorization" at bottom of page and have it sent to your email.
5) Provide the authorization code to your new provider
6) They will transfer it and it goes live usually within 48hrs but I've had them do it in 3hrs

Be prepared for GoDaddy to play games along the way and wait for five days to authorize the transfer. They do this to get you to panic, because your domain seems to be in limbo. You're afraid of losing it. Just wait out the five days.

You can ask your new provider to send another request to GoDaddy if GoDaddy runs out the clock.

So far, I've transferred 20 of my domains from GoDaddy and only lost five due to their incompetency. Which of course, is why I'm transferring. lol

Continuing to stay with GoDaddy, in my opinion, is asking for your business to fail.

Why do you say that about Namecheap. I haven't had any issues with them so I'm just curious.
