How many of you are publishing low content books?

I see that most of the shares in this section are now low/no content books.

How many of you are publishing in the niche and what are the sales to uploads?

I know a few people who make $2-3k a month, normally when one or two products get hot. But then they seem to supliment with selling "how to sell low content" courses or interiors or something.

Most people I'm aware of who try give up after 10-20 books. Some manage 10 books a month but see no results.

I know a handful of people who made a killing $5-20k a month at the top end, but most of those seem to be quietly transitioning out of the space - fiction, other print on demand, selling how to make money courses etc.

It's always seemed a little zero-sum game to me- get popular enough and you make money but then people copy you!

I was wondering the same, because some of the big names seem to be pushing low content again. It goes in waves.

That's a pretty accurate sum up, cwbbhf. Those who make the big bucks started a couple of years ago and pushed out hundreds of no/low content books and were lucky enough to cash in because the market wasn't that saturated. It started to be a struggle around October last year when these 'how to' courses started flooding the market and making it sound like it was an easy way to make a buck.

Come February and everybody seemed to be blasting poorly produced blank lined books at Amazon and spamming the hell out of it. Now, it's very much harder to get in front of people with your books, and a lot of people have simply given up...which for me is a good thing.

I've been doing it for about a year and have just under 100 books and I'd say 80 of them hardly sell. But a few of them fly. It's all about keyword research, design, type of niche and having the will to learn about design software and, to a point, ads. Oh, and a bit of luck. Those people selling the courses don't tell you the whole truth and manage to leave a bit out, many of them outsource the work. It's not always a case of just downloading a blank lined interior and putting up a funny quote cover expecting it to sell like hot cakes.

That simple 'Gratitude Journal' which makes $20k a month fell lucky... right place right time. The interior is just repeated pages over and over, but it got hundreds of positive reviews in the early days, has a nice cover and has been selling ever since.

That's the goal of every KDP publisher... to get the Silver Tuna!

My aim is to a hit $10k+ December month, already prepping for that now, even though it's July.

I guess you just have to be patient and be willing to learn the tools of the trade...plenty of people don't and that's why they quit.

And you're right about copycats. 3 of my books have been copied word for word, but, hey...that's the nature of the business. I still outrank them because of reviews.

Good luck if you're thinking of going into KDP, just remember it's not a get rich quick system.

I'm creating and publishing about 30 low content books a month. BUT, I'm going for good quality interiors and high-quality, stand-out covers. I'm also investing time on keyword research, optimizing titles and writing descriptions which stress benefits and have a strong call-to-action.

I'm not saying it's easy money but I'm doing OK (up to $600/month) and my books will continue to make money over the years to come.

Has any particular course, guide or resource on BBHF been helpful in getting to where you are. $600 per month is nothing to sneeze at for low content books.

are you publishing non-content or low content books? i just publish a book in a low content niche. and most of keywords ranked my book to 2-3 pages without ads, but zero sales. so i need to start advertising or what ?

I have a multimillionaire client that came to me one day about 3.5 years ago and asked me to find a way for his wife to stop asking him for money. I had her create 2 kids activity book templates which we turned into 18 books total targeting 9 niches. After 6 months, she was netting 3 k a month. Now 3 years later she averages a solid 9 to 12k a month with zero effort. We gave it a good marketing push up-front but it is self-sustaining now.

There is no way to describe the importance of pre-launch marketing. Having reviews, a testimonial for the listing, and a shit ton of velocity right out of the gate. Choose categories that you don't need a lot of sales to rank in the top 10. As you hit the top 10 lists, Amazons recommendation engine kicks in and starts recommending your book. If your cover and title/listing do not hit a grand slam then no one buys it and Amazon stops recommending it. Dont get cheap and stupid with the book cover and listing. Its the difference between zero and revenue.

Right now I have several clients creating low content books. One is up to 85 books with a slow start but its' her fault as she did nothing to launch 6hem and the covers suck. She knows and understands this and we will relaunch all shortly

My son is also working on several at the moment, He is in the medical field and works with autistic kids.

You cannot create school certified content of course but come on, get creative, you are marketers.

All of this is childs play IMHO, the real value of kindle ebooks is to build authority, drive website traffic, position you at the top of your game before you even start selling on a site or Amazon etc... Why? Becasue it is a digital product. You are selling air, zero inventory. There are many rock solid low to no cost marketing methods for kindle that opens you up to an audience that you do not normally get in front of

Slapping a book of blank pages and publishing it without marketing it somehow will get you nowhere. Why should someone buy your empty book? You still need to use your brain and answer that question. What appeals to the potential buyer to get them to click. Its not the blank pages, I can tell you that. Make like a used car salesman and paint a picture for them motivating the buy. OR spend a ton on PPC and pray
