I agree with your member sentiments.

When a member shares something if you do it in order to get reps you are doing it for the wrong reason. I won't go as far as saying that making fellow members give you reps should be a bannable offense but I will state my opinion that it is not the way things work.

Requiring reps and a PM to you before you deliver the goods should be against the rules, as should using non-standard passwords to lock files.

Even in the real world we can do good and be of service and not get a single word of thanks but we still do those acts of kindness because we choose to not because we want people to thank us.

I'm not interested in whatever the download is but I happened to come across this thread today and it left a sour taste in terms of the 'spirit' of sharing.
