The guy is not revealing his earnings in the intro videos, so I assume they are next to nonexistent. Basically you have to spend time watching a shit ton of videos and choosing the parts to clip, clipping those parts and uploading them, only to get a view or two before getting hit by a copyright strike. So I wouldn't bother here unless you totally don't have anything else to do at all.

The secret to not getting clips pulled down due to copyright is to add commentary, thereby making it fair use.

When I'm trying to decide what to watch next, I wouldn't say 4.0 is a very good rating. High 4s, yes. Over half who rate this give it 5-stars, but a lot give it less.

In reality, YouTube's AI doesn't care about fair use or not. A lot of channels banned (especially small ones) because of that. It's better to make your own videos. You CAN use those clips if the duration is just few seconds and they are there to illustrate your point. But if YouTube gives you a warning strike and your channel is still small (less than 10K subscribers), there's almost nothing that you can do (customer support is awful af). It's tricky, I know. That's why you have to use royalty free videos or pictures for your YouTube videos.
