Even though you've made just a little money, I think it's the skill and experience you've gained that counts for a lot.
As for continuing this model with amazon, it seems the main issue is that they detected that he's doing arbitrage.
So the solution might be to have multiple amazon accounts to spread it out a bit more?
Or find other marketplaces to do the arbitrage with.

No, it was he was using his Amazon Prime account for commercial purpose and that is against the TOS.

Hey Quasar. Is this business model workable with a new ebay account. One with the 21 day hold on all funds? There are other ways to be paid but I doubt people would be willing to whip out their credit cards to buy on ebay when Paypal is promoted so much. I thought about using Propay since there's no hold but I might not get a lot of sales.

Apart from Amazon, this method can be applied effectively with other alternative sources as well. I have existing supply sources from at least two other Asian online establishments on selected items and we were able to collaborate with these two suppliers to pack and deliver the items directly to my eBay buyers without their own labels and identifications. Of course, I have been doing business with them for the past three years and have established a strong working relationship.

Bottom line is, this method works not just with Amazon but other reputable supply sources as well. It takes determination, conviction and hard work together with work-smart, to achieve the positive result one would expect.

True, using Amazon prime for reselling is against their TOS, has been that way for long, but hundreds-even thousands- of marketers still do it. I found a thread in another site discussing of doing it with a twist, such as 1)-not using Amazon Prime for drop shipping, 2) Getting Prime trial accounts and cancelling them when they expire, then create a new Prime trial and repeat... 3) Using "Super free shipping" whatever that means 4) Checking the "is gift" option so that Amazon doesn't send a receipt to recipients-(some claim Amazon ignores this) 5)Using "Multichannel Fulfillment" Orders so that Amazon packs the item in a neutral box-(they will charge you $1 for this!)...etc DO your research, I am not completely sure of those options.

There's a guy who did a youtube video promoting the dropship amazon to ebay method using prime. A commenter questioned his advice to use prime, and he responded that you're safe as long as you don't use prime for this more than 10X a day. I don't buy that for a second though. I'd never take advice from someone who doesn't first warn against using prime!
Plus, avoid anyone who tries to get you to use a 'special link' (usually on weebly or another free site) to order your drop shipped products from amazon, supposedly in a plain brown box. It won't be shipped in a plain box, but the owner of the 'special link' will get a commission from amazon for your purchase(s) thru it!

I've taken down all my items for now, which is a shame because I had 300+ items listed so you can imagine listing fees. I'm sure there are blackhat ways around this but when you've been warned like that, it makes you gun-shy from investing so much time and effort so it's best to find another model. At least now I'm convinced you can make money online.

Right now I've invested the little profit I made from this in ordering a certain product from China through Alibaba. It's an item I sold a lot of but I can get a dirtcheap alternative from China. I've invested in 100pieces, hopefully it kicks off and I can reinvest in this model. I hate to have to do this though because it's not risk-free and comfortable like the arbitrage was.

I'm tempted to look into article arbitrage. It looks like there's a lot of scope for some creativity there. What do you guys think?

Actually, forget I typed that Mike haha. I just looked into it a bit now and it seems like it's over-saturated and not very profitable judging by what people are saying.

Basically it's offering content creation services like SEO and article-writing, getting work and outsourcing it cheaper....keeping a profit to yourself.

Edit: You never know though, anything can work online. Too many people just jump into things in a wishy washy manner so they don't succeed. I'm finding that the key to making money online is hard-core commitment to one thing at a time, and POSITIONING.
