RE: [GET] Turning Cupcakes Into Cash
StillStanding: Thank you for another interesting share. I won't be downloading it because this seems like a prime example of trading your time for dollars. And, unless you can hire others to do all the work; very labor intensive.
It caught my attention, nonetheless, with making me recall that cute commercial about two NFL teammates: inside linebacker Brian Orakpo and (former) safety Michael Griffin of the Tennessee Titans and how they credit the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 with streamlining their website creation for their cupcake business]. If you're the one person in the free world who hasn't seen this yet, here's the video... SEE IT HERE: Magic Button : And based on the comments this video got, people seem to love the commercial almost as much as they love cupcakes. Here's an ESPN story on how these grown ass men are enjoying their cupcake business... READ IT HERE: Magic Button : And by the way, they didn't exactly start from scratch. I've read somewhere that they purchased a Gigi's Cupcakes franchise. If you can afford it, a franchise gives you the foundation and corporate support you need to succeed. On the other hand, you will have to operate within that corporation's guidelines and your business will be a "cookie-cutter' operation you must customize to make your own. Selling baked goods is a highly competitive business. You've got to make your confections stand out from the crowd. If you're not different --- unique --- memorable in some way, you could lose your shirt in short order. Orakpo and Griffin use their sports celebrity to stand out. Others rely on creative means (flavorings, themes, etc.). Add to that, the cupcake business is not necessarily a "piece of cake" ... For example, aside from a business license, you need to check your local government (city and state) for any special requirements you may need. Did you know it is illegal in some states to sell baked goods made in a home kitchen? But in some cases, you may have the option to pay (around $40) to have your home kitchen inspected to see if it passes muster. These "cottage food laws" differ from state-to-state. Then, there is the liability of someone claiming your food made them ill. Unless you have the right business structure to protect your personal assets (not to mention good business insurance) one successful lawsuit could wipe you clean. Here's a Forbes piece on how a couple in Wisconsin are battling authorities over sales of their homemade baked goods: SEE IT HERE: Magic Button : Despite these disadvantages, it is possible to make a very good living from selling cupcakes. Here's a Daily Mail (British) news story about how one woman saved her family from financial ruin and "baked her way out of bankruptcy" --- with cupcakes! READ IT HERE: Magic Button : EDIT: I forgot to add this interesting story about a 52-year-old "reluctant" baker. She makes millions with her unique (stuffed) cupcakes. I added it just to illustrate how being different works in this business: READ IT HERE: Magic Button : And here's a great guide on how to set up and run your cupcake business: READ IT HERE: Magic Button : If you enjoy creative baking and approach this enterprise knowing (and preparing for) the pros and cons upfront, this could be a very rewarding business. So, I encourage you to enjoy StillStanding's share! I hope this information added value for some who decide to download this e-book. for reading! Layna61524 |
