I think the issue may be that you are attempting to open it directly. The 2 files go together in the same folder, then using 7Zip (Free), open the first file and you should be able to extract the contents of both the files in the share. You should not attempt to open the second file directly.

Does that solve the issue for you?

Wow, thank you so much! That really was the issue, so I've been able to extract all the files. By the way, splitting one file into several others to reduce size is a great idea.
