Let me add some not. This is good platform and i see good potential cause community can take some potential from this like:
1 community rapidly growth
2 steem (alt coins) popularity growth
3 user-created content with paid motivation even for half of price (50% alt coins and 50%for steem power which is require for voting)
4 This model can be taken by other's communities for getting popularity and block-chain power

But there is few big CONS too:
1 How the developers will payout to the community and where they are getting cash. (Suppose that alt coins can be converted to usd or to bitcoin. Hope first one).
2 This platform can be saturated very fast if people will do only "introduce yourself" or some garbage - posting.
3 Absent groups differentiation only live-time tags. Creators need to divide community bu groups for more clearance.

There are already incentives in place to contribute for long term. And not just make one post, make $10,000, cash out and leave. Because the more SteemPower you have, the more your posts and votes count. It is like having equity in the system. You cannot easily cash out SP. Only in two years, 104 weekly installments. And it reduces your "weight" in the system.

Although his "overnight success" is more like, 6 years of constant blogging and building his audience. He is one of the best known ancaps in the world. Not everyone will be so well suited to make thousands.

IMHO: If you already have a following, you can easily make money. If you don't have a following, but go there, consistently make good posts, and in time, you will be building both your following, and income.

I myself have no following, but I do aim to make one post a day and see what happens in a few months or so. Just joined 2 days ago. :D

Is this similar to empowr? I pushed a link asking if I trust a name I thought was my friend to be included in his circle of trust. Now Im getting all kinds of email of people liking my post and image (I haven't done anything else) and I have accumulated $24.00 so far. You can only cash out in 90 days. You can place ads and vote on other ads, posts, images etc ... lots of video training - seems a bit complex. This steemit looks to be of the same type.
