Path to the file that calls their api to check the license is here
install/install/helpers/install_helper.php after beautifying the minified file looks like not so hard to remove call, if nobody check it I'll see how to do it. btw new version is out, 30 may, can you get it? |

They have been 'clever' the install&database script have to come from their API
