The journal is basic and foundational. Someone wants to lose weight/get in shape, I'd tell them to record what they ate, the portion sizes and the feelings and emotions. Simply take time to jot down what you did. So at 9:00am today you did niche research for something. By say 10:00am you're done. Take 10 minutes and write down what you did. Like recording food, in the beginning don't bother with extreme detail. Jot down what sites you went to and such. How you felt before starting and afterwards.

Guarantee you that 1 month later when you look back you'll see the improvement with yourself and work habits. Writing this down also personalizes your business and helps you learn better.

Maybe you read part of the course and have questions. write it down and then after finding the answer write that down too. Really under appreciated tool for beginners.

No right or wrong way except not doing it.

I like the ruled pages with a firm binder. I picked them up for .99 cents apiece at local drug stores.

The journals aren't for anyone other than you. One way about it is to write down 2018 longterm goals. Then break those down into smaller manageable goals. So if your desire is to have completed 1 authority site per month then that's 12 for 2018.

Your first month, this one, is your learning stage. Sometimes I'd keep the journal by my computer. Maybe I figured out 3 good steps for niche research and jot them down. Then later before bed I add more notes. The idea is that it becomes a positive habit and time isn't affected because it enhances your learning.

Also you can write down your 2018 aspirations and thoughts. Just brainstorming. Writing it cements it into your psyche. At least for me.

Draw out a rough diagram of how you want your site to look. The colors, font, navigation layout, potential themes. All I can say is it helped me and it just developed on its own based on a strong recommendation.

This is not something you must do. It helped me, especially in the beginning. I would write down set times I'd work on my online work and prioritize it. This was before smart phones but writing it down helped me.

Something else is to get one of those little detective like notebooks that slip in your pocket. With a little pencil. Maybe you get an idea and you write it down. That has been golden for me.

Give it a go for 1 month. You'll never know unless you try.
