The following method and manner of installation works fine for my Operating System which is Windows XP. I am not certain whether the following details will work exactly for every Windows Operating System, so would some of the members who are more experienced with the other Windows Operating Systems please, kindly, assist those that may experience any diffulties that may arise or that they may come across. Your assistance is most appreciated by myself and those that may need some assistance. Thank you! :)

Right, first thing's first...

Completely un-install any previous SEO PowerSuite Installations using Revo Uninstaller:

Please ensure that ABSOLUTELY every scrap has been uninstalled, that means also using the 'Scan' button, 'Select All' and 'Delete' buttons, then select 'Yes' and also removing any left over C :\ Documents folders that may show up.

Download the Latest Version of Rank Tracker V6.0.5: DO NOT INSTALL THIS YET!!

(If you installed a previous version, you will not be able to see the website as your 'hosts' file will prevent it, so use the Mediafire link further down.)

Edit your hosts file as follows:

Your hosts file on WinXP is located at:

Start\My Computer\Local Drive (C: )\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Or go to Start > Run and type in: drivers – click the ‘OK’ button and open the ‘etc’ folder.

Right click the ‘hosts’ file, choose ‘Open’, then choose ‘Notepad’ or similar, paste the above two addresses in so that it’s underneath the following line:

127.0.0.1 localhost
Close the hosts file and click to save it.

Next:

We need to install an earlier version where the Serial Keys work, so...

Install SEO PowerSuite - Rank Tracker 5.5.4 - First
This installation will install an early version of the following suite of programs.. Rank Tracker, SEO Spyglass, Link Assistant, Website Auditor. The set of serial numbers that are provided in the download below will work fine in these programs.

Register Each Application:

Start Ranktracker via the Desktop Shortcut and go to 'Help' in the top Menu, scroll down to and click on 'Registration Info' and enter the respective serial number, similarly for the other three programs in the suite.

Next:
Do not open any program immediately after the installation. Uncheck the box that opens the program on the installer window and click 'Finish' to close the installer.

Use each desktop shortcut to access them one by one and check that it is a 'Registered' copy by going to 'Help' in the top Menu, scroll down to and click on 'Registration Info' and check the 'Registration' has been completed, similarly for the other three applications.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you want to check that the serial number is there in the final installations of these programs, that is fine, but DO NOT click the [b]'OK' button in the pop-up window afterwards, (Otherwise the 'Licence Key' will get cancelled), just click the 'Cancel' button to dismiss the pop-up.. and the programs will function superbly for you.[/b]

All four programs should be fully registered.

You are good to go on each program. :D



SEO Power Suite User Guides: (Pointless, as most of the links inside the userguides are online at the Link Assistant website and you will not be able to access them after editing your 'hosts' file. lol :D )

The last version of RankTracker I was able to use was v6.0.5 but Google, Yahoo, and several other SE's were failing so it was pretty much useless. I assume they fixed this in the current updates but they also patched up the software exploits.
