Tip 1:
You can easily edit a .PSD file. Import the .PSD file you want to alter and note that you will see a 'Layers' menu to the bottom right of the 'Work Space' window, by clicking on the 'eye' of each layer you can 'De-activate' or 'Re-activate' it.

By de-activating the text layers you can write your own text by selecting the 'T' in the left menu and placing your cursor at the point you want to add text, then just above the 'Work Space' you will notice that you can alter the text 'Font' type, Font size and its colour.


Tip 2:
When you import an image, it may appear to be a small object in the 'Work Space', simply use your mouse's scroll button to bring the image closer to you!

How to create a transparent background to a .jpg or .gif or even a .PSD image so that you can use the image on a page of any background colour.

Scenario:

You may at some point want to mount an image onto a page with a coloured background without the white background of the image showing.

Where images have a white background and you want to mount them on a coloured background, import them into an image editing program, such as the fabulous free one shown below, by double clicking on it or by opening the program first and in the top menu go to 'File' the scroll down to and click on 'Open' and navigate to the image's folder and click on it.

Once imported, click on the 'Eraser Tools' icon and from the fly out choose the 'Flood Eraser', then simply click on the image's white background areas to remove it all. Once you have cleared all of the white areas that you want to you can then export it as a .png image.

To export the image as a .png file:
Go to 'File' in the top menu, then scroll down to and click on 'Export Optimizer', and in the 'Export Optimizer' window you'll notice a dropdown menu where you can choose, 'Portable Network Graphic' (.PNG) and you should also click on 'Transparent' before clicking the 'Export' button.

Once installed, open the software and allow it to proceed to look for updates. After a few seconds, click the 'Red x' to get rid of the window and start the program.
Once done you'll see a splash screen with a link to a series of video tutorials, watch them!

Note the address of these tutorials so that you can re-educate yourself when necessary, alternatively, click the 'Help' link in the top menu and hit 'Tutorials' to choose which tutorials you want to see again..!!
