I suggest that if you actually bother to look at 10-20 credible sources (like AV company blogs) and actually read about webshell (as I have), that it might be a bit harder to throw rocks at that which you do not wish to hear about.

As one who has done searches looking for further info about the injected webshell coding, and asked about it at any opportunity - I find it baffling that there are folks who have found this and proven its existence - but that the methods to clean it seem quite absent.

To my eyes, this speaks of something which is beneficial to the publishers, somehow - which also explains how it is possible to get an addon directly from the source - get a positive for webshell infection - yet have the author deny its presence.
(Much as Bale has done, here in this thread, actually - and then Bale has lashed out verbally when discussion has been attempted. Not helpful in solving this mystery.)

No biggie really.
When those who are too slothful to examine a possible threat for themselves end up with it installed...they may not even know that bad things are happening - so will it matter ??
(If one refuses to look at or feel an injury - is it actually bleeding ?!?)

Hmm, this thread prompted me to check what others say about relying on Windows Defender to scan downloads like this. I found this article https://www.maketecheasier.com/is-window...od-enough/ which suggested it has improved a lot. Seems the biggest problem was too many false positives rather than missed malware. My scan of this shared file found nothing dangerous. So I'm going to chance it.
