In Post #35, I talked about what an impact this training had on my business many years ago. And yes it is true, this course was early in my Internet Journey that changed the way I thought about marketing. I was around before the internet took off and had a BBS ("Bulletin Board System" with dial-up modems) in my computer store so my customers could access printer drivers and some support materials. When the internet came along, because we were doing custom programming and network installations, many of our clients wanted us to build them websites. Did that for a while, but never really saw this as a way to make money other than building stuff for my clients. Matt changed that for me. While I did apply his teachings to what I was doing (and offering) my clients, I also went on the journey of building products and marketing them online... It has been a major rollercoaster ride since then! Now, all these years later, while I no longer need to work for cash, I still work all the time as I love what I do. I help small businesses grow, I develop training products and do coaching/consulting (almost never face to face, but online via Skype, Zoom or even WebinarJam). If you download this and read the "My First Million" PDF, you should notice one thing about Matt. He listened to what those people that went before him had to say, he consumed the knowledge and made it part of himself, then he applied it to what he was doing in his business. This is key. You need to find a small set of quality products (books, training course or mentors) to learn from. Then deep dive into what they have on offer. Don't just read/watch it once, but study it in detail. Get it into your bones and then apply it exactly the way they say to do it. Once you are getting results from it, then look for ways to leverage it, increase it or add to it. STOP THE SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME - JUMPING FROM ONE THING TO ANOTHER - Way OF Life! Do that, build a solid foundation that is producing results and you can have a great lifestyle. I did it and I know you can too. After all these years, I still believe the 2 most important skillsets you can have are 1) Productivity and 2) Marketing (especially "Copywriting"). Using your time effectively is critical so that is one of the reasons why Shiny Object Syndrome is a killer on your level of success. Without FOCUS you are dead in the water! And the skill to market what you have or even other peoples products is vital to your future success. Be it one-to-one sales, one-to-many groups or even one-to-the -world internet marketing...
