Can this software be used in backup a VPS hosting?
If your answer is no, forget me....thanks :)

IT can backup your wordpress sites from a vps or server or local machine if you ran it from there. it does not matter on the location of the wordpress install.

Thanks for the replied.
However, I am still no confident in the or any plugins might be developed later on. To me backup is easy, but restore is another story. I had tried backupcreator.
Since there is no trial, I am not counted.
