The original program is able to be run on 32 bit versions of XP but I have the feeling that the patched version is not.

I'm wondering the same thing , would it be possible for the cracker to look into it - if it could be tweaked to work on windows xp 32bit

A word of advice is to upgrade from xp, it is not even supported by microsoft anymore.
