once i had the same problem with windows 8.1, as didn't get any solution for that i had to switch back to windows 7 ultimate and there was no problem like that. Now again i installed 8.1 and now don't getting any error like that. I am really confused about this problem. Maybe u should try installing every windows updates and install adobe air for specific platform e.g. 32bit or 64bit.
