Short: Arbitrage between exchanges (duh...) and buy into pumps - didn't see that on coming (100% sarcasm). Glad I didn't pay for it, but I already knew that, seeing who wrote it - for newbies it's okay though, just a bit dangerous to follow (and lose in the process). I should preface this by saying that I am a currency trader.
There are two core strategies that James is emphasizing: 1) Momentum 2) Arbitrage. With a momentum trade, he suggests you buy into currencies that are appreciating (going up in value) very quickly, with the expectation that the price will continue to go up. Now, considering the stupidity of the other players in the market, this strategy will work. But there is an easy enough way to counter this trade. All you need to do is set a single sale price below which you will buy all available coins. This creates artificial volume to get idiots like James excited, while ensuring that you can systematically raise the price of the currency before dumping all the trading volume, and leaving idiots like James holding the bag. In order to ensure that my counter-strategy works, you need to pay attention to the number of coins in circulation and make a guestimate what percentage of the total market cap you can afford to own. The more you can own, the higher you can artificially inflate the price. The arbitrage trade is interesting. You basically acquire coins from one exchange at one price, and exchange them for other coins at a different price. Now, I've written a bot that does a lot of this transferring for me. It's very roughly similar to what high frequency trading firms use in the american equities markets. The problem with applying any sort of speed-based strategy in the cryptocurrency world is the fact that it takes a certain amount of time before transactions are irreversibly verified--usually in the hours range. The markets move fast enough that within the hour, your 'arbitrage' trade window vanishes, and you're left holding worthless coins.  |

What gets me is that he never actually shows examples of what HE DOES. Instead, he will take screenshots of what someone else has done and then sell the "possibility" that you might be able to do it too and the idiots can't get enough of it!
