Interesting book and ideas. If you read between the lines a bit, you can use the exact same principles for building membership sites. What he is talking about in building a community so that people can become more engaged is one that we have done before.

He is doing this with physical products were most of us think in terms of information based products.

While I believe the profit margins are much higher in the information business, the concepts are sound and I can see a number of things that running with this model should work.
