Review: This is a 40 page PDF covering 10 Chapters. There is a blank page between each chapter so it is more like a 30 page read! It took me less than 15 minutes to read it through. A lot of the 'how to' is common sense and includes where to go for help if you do not want to write yourself. The topic chosen as the model is Eating Disorders and the author breaks down how to plan each step of the book, how much to write, how to find a good title and so on. There is not much on the actual writing skill required other than to state that "writing your book should be fun"! Can you achieve the task in 24 hours? Well, the author insists that you must plan a complete day, 9am - 9pm, and use an actual or online timer to monitor progress. Each section is timed at 30 - 60 minutes so technically it is possible but I feel you would get a better result if you blocked out two sessions of 6 hours each on two consecutive days. That way you would not burn out and could bring fresher ideas in to the book on the second day. I am a teacher of English anyway so found the book interesting in its approach and easy to follow and implement. But if English is not your first language or you are writing in your own tongue, you might be struggling. The cost of the book is quite low but there are numerous plugs for the author's other products on Kindle mastery and publishing! As a bonus, he includes a video he made showing how he makes good returns publishing other people's books on Kindle. I did not watch it but it looked like it could be interesting, especially if you are not a strong writer yourself. |
