Review of DD...

1) figure out what client calls their customers/clients/patients etc (no brainer LOL)

2) figure what kind of client they want - he does offer 2 free ? services to comb local data and also gives tips to use the us post service to sort and sift

3) you get the data in there (much techo) then show them on your phone or tablet the "potentials" the direct mail you sell them will reach....his example was finding people in 75k year bracket, with kids, single family home for a pool guy

4) he then suggest you upgrade - 150 to 200 to further slice/dice data...pets? likes to golf or whatever...

My thoughts - ok but what are u selling them? How much effort do u want to go to just to sell a run of direct mailings? Do you have a wholesale printer, do you do passable graphics...do you know the requirements for printing , spacing, bleed etc?

I have watched excitement over Bob Ross for some time...many try but few stick it out. The few who try it long distance, hands off? Uh huh. I think it only works locally, and probably mostly in the usa with our postal deals. I think you have to be able to go in and sell. You have to get the appointment first so you better be good on phone.
You can't outsource this> No one is going to go out and sell this stuff for you. If you lack graphic skills the cost of graphics will cut further into your small profits

Finally - for those of us who deal with small biz - just getting camera ready stuff, logos, getting them to decide on an offer can be so time consuming and draining.
Oh and the bigger biz...mo money , mo problems - now you have to have a committee decide things, we will meet, vote, decide....ask the accountant....get their in house ad people sticking their noses in...

do the math ...IMHO I say either go for an easier or sale or if you go to all this bother then make it a sale you can full fill yourself and make a nice large sum of money

Bottom line - the data stuff/find targets is good info to have but IMHO could be used in a way to sell an easier more profitable service

someone asked me about postcard marketing again, since that is one of the niches i am in. and the above comments are correct, this bob ross guy is not one of the people you should trust too much. he just repackages the same info to resell over and over again

I seriously am curious....all the people repping and saying great etc....did u try this? were u able to get a run of co op cards out? Did u make good $$?

I have watched folks getting excited about this for years. Hey I might get all excited and interested in becoming a professional Flamenco dancer in Spain but....I don't know Flamenco dancing, I have no skills in it, I don't have contacts in Madrid, and yeah I don't live in Spain.

If you do not have >> graphic skills, telemarket and face to face skills, contacts, a wholesale printer, and if you do not live in the usa you might as well forget this.

Why usa? Cause we have a usps deal called every door direct..this is all based on this lower cost bulk mailing.

I just wish some more people would post honest results. I have seen 2 or 3 here who have done this but they have all the pieces in place. Much much work and stress with this I fee.
