Hi all,
I just received an email from MailChimp that they are running a free promo to register a .com domain free for 5 years. Of course, they have some rules around this, but for anyone interested in the offer, visit their website. This offer expires on 31 May 2020 and is limited (whatever this means...). IMHO Mailchimp is a bit iffy. They're prone to closing accounts for some pretty obscure reasons. But, hey, you can't argue with free... |

Did you read the terms of the offer?
You have to keep the root domain updated with new content for five years and if at any time you fail to maintain the upkeep of the website you violate the terms and will have to pay up. If you decide to drop the site all together ownership of the domain automatically goes to Mailchimp. You can't change the domain nameservers so you're basically joined at the hip for better or worse. You're better off saving up pennies until you can afford a godaddy .99 cent domain |
