I wanted to add that many, many years ago (many of you here weren't even born then) there was a man named Tyler G. Hicks. He operated a newsletter called International Wealth Success (IWS) and self-published many hard-copy (pen-and-ink) books. I pretty much devoured them as I was a voracious reader, especially during my adolescent years. I was introduced to those "Make Money" books because my Dad was a door-to-door salesman and he subscribed to a monthly magazine on salesmanship and making money.

Tyler G. Hicks may still be alive (I don't know) but if he is, he's very, very, very, very old. I know his website still operates and it may be his kids or grand kids who are now running his businesses.

Hicks wrote a great deal about finder's fees and he still sells books on finance and small business operations.

Middle of the page, there is an advertisement for the Finder's Fundamentals and you can get it for less than $30 (USD).

Of course, the guy who wrote the book you downloaded from this share is Jim (J.F.) Straw and he's now deceased but he was another pioneer in the marketing/small business self-publishing style of Tyler G. Hicks.

@Theo1: Thanks for the offer but I am not sure if there is enough meat-and-potatoes in Ty Hicks' treatment of finders fees in his business books to make it worth your precious time.

I was just on archive.org yesterday (where I find a lot of older books, etc.) and searched for Tyler Hicks books (in general) and the keyword "finders fees" (in particular). Archive served up several of his books with the words finders fees highlighted in yellow so I searched the Table of Contents of each and he discusses the practice in glaring generalities and in no more than 2 to 3 pages per book.

Ty Hicks' e-book or course (see the link I share at post #13) is supposed to go deeper into it; for anyone who wants to really understand the concept of finder's fees. If you have that course, it would be wonderful if you shared it but as much of his stuff was hard-copy (pen and ink) it won't be easy to convert.

So, I believe Jim (J.F.) Straw's book shared here is the more thorough treatment of the subject. Tyler Hicks was an engineer and loan broker, I believe. I don't have the course but I wouldn't be surprised if his approach on finder's fees is from a financial perspective (ex: loan and mortgage brokering; finding financing for people for a fee versus matching up buyer/seller of merchandise, industrial supplies, etc.).

But, I could be wrong.
