[GET] Elmore Leonard's 10 Rules of Writing
Dear Friends,
With the passing of Elmore Leonard, it is a sad week for authors and readers everywhere. A prolific author of gritty westerns and crime novels, Leonard penned exceptional stories, twenty-six of which have been adapted for the screen, including classics like Get Shorty, Out of Sight and 3:10 to Yuma. In 2007, he published Elmore Leonard's 10 Rules of Writing and his own unique spin on being an author. In his own words, the "rules that I've picked up along the way to help me remain invisible when I'm writing a book, to help me show rather than tell what's taking place in a story." A great storyteller has passed. But not his works. Today I share with you not his stories but his thoughts itself. "Elmore Leonard's 10 Rules of Writing" Magic Button : |

By ELMORE LEONARD
Published: July 16, 2001 Code: These are rules I've picked up along the way to help me remain invisible when I'm writing a book, to help me show rather than tell what's taking place in the story. If you have a facility for language and imagery and the sound of your voice pleases you, invisibility is not what you are after, and you can skip the rules. Still, you might look them over. |

RE:
Always loved Elmore Leonard and always hated messing with Torrents so for those of you like me, I suggest you go to http://bookos.org/ do a search for Elmore Leonard (or any of 2 million other books) and download them for free. This is a great resource and contains other notable authors such as Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy and Harv Eker etc. etc. Cheers
This is a message to all those who don't understand, "Sharing is Caring". If you aren't working to make this a better place (ie having a REP of at least 100) don't ask me for help. Everyone has something on their hard drive they can share. Everyone has the time to offer a review or create a mirror!
