Easiest, quickest 100% free methods to grab stuff from mega.

There have been numerous threads upon this subject, the latest being in VIP, here:

Short info about that method:
The info there is WAAAY too complicated and truly sucks.

The ONLY reason that I EVER bother AT ALL with mega is when there is some genuinely terrific thing that I'm 100% certain is worth the troubles of bothering - else, I have an account with 47GB just sitting there after ~2 years because to DL that stuff is too much hassle.

SO:
Transferring it to GD would ease the DL process IF it were simple, else I can skip the whole idea.

There -ARE- easier ways to grab that stuff !!
I have 2 methods that I've used for a couple of years already after simply abandoning my own mega account due to all the suckiness in just trying to use it.

Be advised:
Both methods here require the Java JRE to be installed before they can be used, if your PC doesn't already have it - get it here:

This is for the JRE and it is always best to use their offline versions rather than letting their site mess with your PC.

JAR files just open and run directly, which makes them very easy to use.

Then, to start with - you need good links to either the entire shared folder or the file that you want, so copy that 1st no matter what.

Method 1:

And I strongly recommend just getting the JAR file - it is very easy to just use.

You just open Megabasterd, add the DL link(s) - and tell it to grab 'em.

Method 2:
Get JDownloader's Java version by visiting here:

Then=>
Click on 'other' - and the link for the JAR file is on mega...go figure !!


WARNING:
DO NOT USE THE EXE INSTALLER IF YOU ARE A WINDOWS USER OR YOUR AV WILL LIKELY GO NUTS ON YOU.

JDownloader just takes in mega links and does some sorts of proxy magic to get the DLs without needing any account creds - and if/when it pauses for a while after a gigabyte or so, just close it, wait a minute and reopen it - your DL will start again - that is the true magic of JDL !!

Could be that some folks do not grasp the idea of using apps written in Java and which come as JAR files - perhaps like Ms-Keys, who wrote:

Best of all regarding the 2 methods I posted in the OP here:
You can grab both JAR files and use whichever one you wish, whenever.

These options change megasuck from a very limiting service to being almost unlimited without having to tolerate keeping any free but limited account(s) there, and=>

When folks INSIST upon sharing via that nasty site, then tell you to import their shares into your own LIMITED ACCOUNT - well...you really don't need to do as they say.

Yes, this is just my own opinion based upon the number of free and unlimited sharing hosts that are NOT nasty like megasuck and this opinion is NOT aimed at offending anyone other than megasuck !!
