UNTAPPED Q&A Report

Q: On page 11, you show a picture of the keyword, search engine, SERP, change, and volume. Can you please tell me where I can find that on Google Adwords site and what is that for? What is SERP and the change mean?

That screenshot is taken from Serpfox.com where I track my own rankings. SERP means “search engine page results” which is essentially the results you see when you Google something. Change means how much my rankings have gone up or down in the search engine results.

Q: Do you know an alternative to Long Tail Pro that costs less?

At this moment, Long Tail Pro is the most affordable and the best tool. If you really can’t afford it, then try using the free methods from page 40 until you start to make some money.

Q: On page 33, you gave us an example of a perfectly optimized url. So the domain that you buy doesn’t have to contain the keyword in it as long as at the end (after the .com/)of your domain has the keyword in it? For example, is the url still perfectly optimized if it’s www.easyrates.com/mastercard-exchange-rate?

Exactly!

Q: Is it still perfectly optimized if the title and url contains words before or after the exact keyword, for example, title “Great Mastercard Exchange Rates Now” and url “www.site.com/awsome-mastercard-exchange-rate-everywhere”?

Yes and no. It is will optimized because the keywords appear in the exact order, but it could be MORE optimized. Therefore, if you create a more optimized page/post, you will naturally rank higher.

Q: What are Juice Page Links? Why is –no PR, 0, 1, and 2 is not good? Why do we want to operate where a majority of the sites have a Page Authority of less than 35 and a Domain Authority of less than 50? Why not less than 20 or some other number? How do you determine the number for these things?

Page links are the number of do-follow links pointing to the URL. Low PR is GOOD not bad. The metrics of page authority, domain authority, are all made up based on my own experiences. There is no “real” rule. The figures are just my recommendations based on experience. You should create your own metrics and theories once you establish your own experience.

Q: If I manually check for Juice Page, you said to check the amount of “do-follow” links. How do I find out which of the “do-follow” links are actually Juice Page links?

All the do-follow links are juice page links.

Q: For example, if I’m doing the keywords “mastercard exchange rate”, do I have to buy a domain with the keywords in it such as www.mastercardexchangerate.com in order to have the url perfectly optimized? Or can I perfectly optimize the url by buying any domains close or similar to the keywords such as www.easyrates.com and just add url page www.easyrates.com/mastercard-exchange-rate to it? Please clarify.

You can purchase either mastercardexchangerate.com or easyrates.com. I would recommend purchasing easyrates and building an authority site. But the choice is ultimately yours to make.

Q: If the keywords are “mastercard exchange rate”, is it still perfectly optimized if the title and url contains words before and after the exact keyword. For example, is it fine if the title is “Good Mastercard Exchange Rate For Everyone” and url is “www.site.com/best-mastercard-exchange-rate-here”. Or does the url has to be www.site.com/mastercard-exchange-rate and title has to be only just “Mastercard Exchange Rate”? Does it have a negative or positive affect on your ranking if you add any words before or after the exact keyword to your url and title?

It does have a SLIGHT negative affect. But it is very minimal.

Q: What are Juice Page links? Why do they call it “Juice” page?

Juice page links are do-follow links. Or links that pass juice/power.

Q: Why is it good if a majority of the sites on the first 10 results of google have –no PR, 0, 1, or 2? What does it mean when sites have low PR or more PR?

They have low PR.

Q: What determines the Page Authority number and Domain Authority number for a domain?

How authoritative the backlinks that are pointing to a URL are.

Q: What if there are no .com,.net,.org domains available and longtailpro tells you that the niche keyword is not very well optimized, does it make sense to add terms like ‘hq’ or ‘club’ or ‘abc’ behind the term?

I usually don’t go after the keyword because it shows that other marketers have discovered the keyword.

But if you REALLY think it is a winner, it is fine to add additional words to the domain.

Q: So, when going to Warrior/Digital Point for links, do you go for similar niches when buying, say travel?? Or any old backlink and it doesn’t matter, say from a gambling or health site when you wanna rank for a travel KW? 2nd…do you buy the links just the once to see if you’ll rank. or do you keep the link always going, ie @ $30-40/mth

A relevant link will always be more powerful.
This isn’t completely accurate, but a PR 5 “standard” link will have about the same amount of power as a PR 4 “relevant” link.
So it is better to purchase a relevant link, but a stronger standard link will get the job done as well.
Also you continue to pay the monthly fee as long as your keyword is covering the cost and eventually profiting.
This may take between 1-3 months.

Q: What do you find is best? Articles, or blog posts…how do you go about it?

Both work just fine! I personally use articles.

Q: Do I need to have Long Tail Platinum?

No, Long Tail Pro will work just fine. Long Tail Platinum provides its own metrics that determines the competition of a given keyword, however there is a monthly fee attached and it is not always 100% accurate.

Q: Can you check my keyword process? (Video sent)

You’re making one of the most common mistakes every marketer makes when searching for keywords.
The idea is to type in a broad seed niche like “baby” and then scan the results and plug back something that doesn’t show up. Do NOT take results that are shown and put them back in, that is what every other marketer does. By doing this – you are competing with all of them.
For example I randomly thought of things like: baby stroller, baby cribs, baby diseases
I like “baby diseases” but don’t know anything about it so I google it.
The first result in Google was this website: http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/im/iyc-vve/pgi-gpv/section2-eng.php
Number 12 on the list is: “meningococcal disease” (I picked that one because it is obscure and unlikely a marketer would know about it)I plug “meningococcal disease” into GKP.
The keyword that catches my eye is: “viral meningitis symptoms” because it almost has 3k searches and has 3 words in the phrase.
I check namecheap: .org and .net are wide open.
I check long tail pro: too competitive
I go back to the results for “meningcoccal disease” and another one catches my eye: “how do you get meningitis” gets 3.6k searches
Namecheap: .org and .net open
Long tail pro: medium competition.

By continuing with this trend, you will be able to find golden, untapped niches and keywords. It requires a little bit of work and creativity… but just putting in a little more work will put you that much further above the competition.

Q: Regarding your bonus ‘Keyword Buyer Guide,’ could you provide me with simple explanation of how to use it.

The buyer keyword guide is just a guide to give you more ideas to add onto your seed keywords for even more untapped keywords.

Q: When you enter a broad seed niche (like ‘baby’ into the Keyword Planner… Do you have to review all the 800 keyword result that google spits out before coming up with any relevant keywords?

No, just review the ones that look interesting to you… The ones with enough traffic and longer tailed. The goal is to find gems that other marketers probably have not discovered yet. It’s important to keep that mindset.

Q: You say on the Page that you randomly thought of things like: baby stroller, baby cribs, baby diseases. Were these three keywords part of the search results?

No, I randomly thought of things related to “baby” that the keyword planner did not bring back. This is the main secret to finding untapped niches. A little bit of brain power will lead you to keywords that other “lazy” marketers won’t or don’t know to do.

Q: What did the 800 keyword results play in you coming up with the three (3) keywords above?

They did not. The 3 keywords were quickly generated in my head.

Q:Since somewhere in the ‘Q&A’ you suggest NOT to use any of the keyword results spits out by google, then what’s the use of going through the trouble of typing in the broad seed niche word?

The purpose is to see what the planner spits out… so you can type in new keywords that are related but not shown.

Q: I’m believing that in researching keywords, I simply come up with a broad seed keyword, like say “movies”. Then think of all the keywords that are not likely to show up on the Keyword Planner and go from there. Would that be logical?

Perfect!

Q:As you can tell by the above 3 questions that I’m trying to find out what role the Google Keyword Planner results play?

The planner is solely used for brainstorming and finding data on search volume.
