Do I need Photoshop?

This software is specifically designed for a PC computer running a Windows operating system. This software will run on Windows XP up to the current Windows version.

BUT, there is a simple method to running ANY Windows based software directly on your Mac. Here is how ..

Download and install the free VirtualBox.org software onto your Mac computer
Install a copy of Windows in the VirtualBox software running on your Mac computer
Install the Book Graphics Pro software in Windows from inside of the VirtualBox software running on your Mac computer

To learn more on how to install Virtual Box on your Mac and how to run Windows within Virtual Box, simply search on YouTube. There are many helpful videos that can get you started.

How do I find images to insert into my cover or background?

You can simply use the free Google images search tool. BUT ... make sure to go to the advanced search options and for the "Usage Rights" field, select "free to use, share or modify, even commercially" option. Seeing as its email activated, I went ahead and have just bought the "BOOK GRAPHICS PRO" product.

Rather than wait or someone to crack it and because it's in new 'post-beta' stage and listed as version one; I'm sure they'll have updates and add-ons soon enough. But knowing these guys as WF BSO people, I'll just bet they plan on adding quite a few additions to the program, once they gauge response and see how many people buy the thing or ask for a refund. It was easy enough to pay through PayPal, which the payment then goes through ProductPay.com. Which must be part of PayPal.
Once they accept your payment, your own email address activates the product.
They include a password in the email, and this must really only be for refunds or ticket support.


QUICK REVIEW - "Book Graphics PRO"


Layout is very simple and easy enough to get used to. In fact layout is better than 'EBook Cover Maker Pro'.

Uploading of templates, colours, own images is straight forward. This is where personal artistic work comes into play. It's either going to be a 'shocker', well thought out, balanced in perspective and colour, or something even a zombie would run from. lol.

I like how you can add cross-pieces as rectangles, circles, as an overlay onto the cover for titles, names, sub-headings, etc. You can change the type into a pleasing header for this overlay. It can also be made as transparent which does look professional.

You can then save the cover to Kindle size or Nook. I don't know what size Nook is, but Kindle is 625 X 1000.

It will probably take an average of 30 minutes to master this program, unless you're a complete twit. This is why I think Walker and his side-kick will build on this program and milk it for all its worth. Probably just like John Rhodes and Jay Boyer. Squeeze it and the buyers for everything and charge the bloody earth for it. I dare say, we'll be seeing some sort of upgrade available in 6 months and a charge for that.

Overall however, I think they've done a good job and it really comes down to the individual as to how well the covers look. Because after all, that's the first thing a buyer sees and what could lead to impulse buying.
