Simply paste start() and alexa function right after after <php> in your footer.php and put : echo "<img src='".alexa($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'])."' height='0' width='0'>" anywhere in the same footer.php.

I have trouble to add in SMF(Simple Machine Forum).
Can it be pasted in body, header or just footer?
