@basuraza: Thank you for the clarification. Since you are an AWS Systems Development Operative, can you explain what happens if a user exceeds the allotted characters in any single month? Would that negate the trial or would one's card be billed for the overage? Interesting.

In paragraphs 3 and 4 in my post, I clearly said that AWS Polly is a premium paid service that is free for one year but maybe nop123 speed-read through that. Furthermore, I explained the need to set up an account, which usually asks for some identifying information and, again, a form of payment you will need to have in place for as soon as your trial ends. Most people planning to use this application seriously will have their files uploaded there and won't risk losing access by letting the trial lapse without upgrading to the paid service. So, yes ... a card is needed ... just in case.
