I read about this service on another forum and thought I'd share it here. I also added content that I hope you will find useful.

Amazon's Polly is a paid text-to-speech (TTS) Amazon Web Service (AWS) that creates voices you can use in your multimedia projects, such as audiobooks, recorded podcasts or videos.

You can try this paid service FREE for 1 year by using the link behind the MAGIC BUTTON. I've also included the link to the step-by-step directions that help you to get set up.

The steps are pretty clear-cut:

TIPS FOR TWEAKING TTS VOICES TO SOUND MORE HUMAN

It is important to tweak TTS voices as much as you can manually to help them sound more like a human speaking. Here are a couple of tips for how to do that...

If you get a TTS voice engine that sounds fairly human but you notice some fluctuation in the pronunciation of certain words or names, here's a tip...

Go back into your text editor and write the word phonetically. That is, write it out as it SOUNDS ... not as it is correctly spelled.

For example, if the typed name Layna is pronounced LayNA (with emphasis on the ending) you can type it as Lane-nuh for a more natural sound. You can keep a dictionary close by to get phonetic keys to words that don't quite sound as they should in TTS voices.

Another tip: You can put more distance between words with this (...) and the voice pauses a little between words or sentences.

BE CAREFUL DOWNLOADING FROM POPULAR DOWNLOAD SITES

Please be careful when downloading on sites like download.cnet, sourceforge.net and other popular download platforms by keeping your virus protection running and scanning the files you download to be sure they're safe. Actually, be sure to virus scan everything you download from anywhere.

Just recently, I had a zipped file that showed as safe with my A-V but someone here had to educate me that I needed to unzip the rar archive and then scan the files inside and sure enough, there were a host of trojans there...just waiting to infect my computer. So, I don't mean to sound like your Mom but I want you to be careful.
