This method works but u need to test it by putting hundreds of videos in a month and then see the conversion. I have used this method with whiteboard videos also and it works but again, you need to spend atleast 15-20 days creating good videos and putting them on youtube.
Most people don't have patience and are running behind quick money so hardly a few will take action on this.
I have done this with products which will be released after 45-60 months and getting some backlinks to my videos via fiverr.

You can easily get Amazon product review videos for pennies (or just edit existing ones and re-upload). Why would you want to spend the time creating new ones?
