Bulk Email Setup 4 Idiots..Where do I start??
Hi,

OK...I am being a little hard on myself, but I am feeling hopeless on being able to setup my own bulk mailing from home after researching...Where the heck do I begin??!

What do I need to start bulk mailing? I do not want to pay a service...I am a dyi kind of chick.

I am looking into getting an email verifier..buying one. No luck after installing from the [GET] sections (know of any??)
SMTP free? ...I found a free open source one, but I couldn't get it setup, because it was asking for a pw that was never created.
Do I need a proxy? ...(I have no real clue what this does, but I have seen it mentioned)
Do I have to have a domain?
What am I missing?

RE:
A good start for beginners is to get the Atomic park email products but there are several bulk emailers listed on this site. There are others but at least you can get all the basics in one place with Atomic. You will need the bulk emailer and the software that removes duplicate emails from your list. Not sure but I believe they also sell a email verifier. There is a group buy going on (do a search) I have not checked it out myself so I can not say if it is a good deal or not.

P.S. Try to learn how to do it the right way from the beginning. Most important things to remember:
1. Always maintain and use your remove list. Do not keep sending emails to someone has requested to be removed.
2. Be very careful about using paid emails addresses. Better off buying a scrapper and sending to a targeted audience.
3. If possible have two domain names. One of them for your main website such as a dot.com and the other is the one you use to send out emails with and mention in your ads such as a dot.NET
4. Always include a UNSUBSCRIBE link and company details at the bottom of the email to be compliant with FCC rules.

Thanks for sharing some good tips!

"Better off buying a scrapper and sending to a targeted audience." and "to be compliant with FCC rules." This is a major contradiction. By "FCC" I am assuming that you are referring to the CAN-SPAM act. The document below states "The law provides for criminal penalties – including imprisonment – for: harvesting email addresses or generating them through a dictionary attack." This could be pretty serious if you live in the US. If you live somewhere else, I doubt this would even be an issue for you.

MORE INFO: http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/bu...e-business (this is a good read, especially if you want to be compliant)

This looks pretty good. Please share it if you happen to come across it again. I tried searching for it, but I can't find it shared anywhere.
