BH tips for newbies
Coming right out of the SEO womb as a black hat with no programming experience and competing against other black hats is not a good idea. If you don't have a trusting relationship with a veteran blackhat, then it will be harder to compete against them in your niche [category] because you are blind to who you are competing against. Regardless of what you read on blogs, screens, and forums - there is money (from Google Adsense, Yahoo, Azoogle, etc) at stake that people have worked hard to make as their primary source of residual income. Much of the tutorials about obtaining a successful ranking in the SERPs are available on many other blogs and forums. Quadzilla made a few great points about experience being a great teacher and getting your feet wet with some projects. If you want to have a successful ranking in the serps then you should * Hire a developer * Learn PHP (extensively) * Be A King Linkbaiter * Read The Forums and Practice The best thing you can do is hire a developer or possibly offer him a percentage of profits. But it sounds more like you should the basics of white hat - which means to put together a great product and follow the rules. One good tip is for you to invest in at least 10-20 'throw-away' domains that you can tweak and test different variables and come up with your own conclusions. Read the posts, practice, learn. You will waste a ton of money buying old domains, subscribing to this forum, if you have little to no reference of what will work and what won't work. It sounds like you want to learn, but maybe you are eager to get to the goodies of mass income. I guarantee you that no matter what route you take [white] or [black], if you are new to the game it will not happen overnight. Grab a PHP tutorial and get to learning, the one that's really of value now is here > http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627 At after learning a good deal of PHP and its functions then you will be able to have a few decent conversations with some Black Hats/developers and ask for help with "specific" things; and not an all at once strategy. Plus you have to assign a value to the projects you are working on, if you are just looking to make a quick buck - without doing much work; then you can plan on getting banned by the engines or getting knocked out of the SERPs by competitiors. The strategy is having multiple streams of income, + 1 extremely valuable idea that isn't BlackHat. If you have very little confidence in your own strategy, then you will fail anyway - no matter what hat you want to wear. Stay involved! |
