RE: http vs http://www
jjohanson.. You've been here for 25 months and have not yet learned to first seek for yourself.

Literally LMGTFY (let me g00gle that for you) -- take a look below (at the links provided). Get some knowledge and experience then come back and ask pertinent - NON SPOON FEEDING - questions.

Spoon feeding is not an educational method. Unless you believe knee pads should accompany government handouts:

1- http://bfy.tw/EYsU
2- http://bfy.tw/EYsh
3- http://bfy.tw/EYsr

On all these searches click "tools". Under "Any Time" click "Past Year". Read, Absorb, Take Action.

COME BACK WITH REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE AND WE CAN TALK.

KEEP WAITING...Cause we don't have a spoon big enough for you.

PROOF? Why does anyone owe you detailed answers with proof?

And define detailed answers with proof. What will it take to satisfy you?

All my personal banking information and access to my online business?

Better idea and much faster is for you to go out into the online world and start working on this to discover for yourself what works.

THEN, you come back and show us what did and didn't work for you. At that point you'll have a true educational experience to share with others.

RE: http vs http://www
D***H*** answer above to the original post. It's a genuine question.

The true answer is pick one and stick with it.

Back in the olden days of the internet everyone typed out http://www.domain.com . Nowadays most people except for some older people don't bother. If you type www or non-www you will be re-directed to the correct place regardless of what was picked as the chosen format.

The search engines see them the same way, pick one and always use that (although if link building you can switch back and forth for link diversity reasons). I haven't used www in many, many years, if that's worth anything. Most modern sites don't bother, it is completely unnecessary nowadays but it's up to you.

RE: http vs http://www
1. HTTP is the protocol used to transfer data to and from the website.
2. WWW is the identifier that indicates that it is a web site and it uses the HTTP protocol.
3. HTTP://anything.com, WWW://anything.com, HTTP://WWW.anything.com leads to the same site.
4. Any prefix that is not reserved to a protocol can be used as a sub domain.

RE: http vs http://www
Here i have explained you about your question. I hope this will help you. HTTP is an acronym for Hypertext Transfer Protocol; this is the most popular protocol in use today. It is the communication standard used by your web browser in order to communicate with the server of the website that you are viewing. WWW or the World Wide Web is a prefix to a certain name in order to identify that it is a web site that you are visiting.

If you are doing SEO, as stated in the question, you would be wise to Google 'rel=canonical' - though TBH - if you have a WP site with any SEO plugin it's probably already taken care of.
