Do you like free stuff?

Well, fasten your seatbelt and crank up the hard drive. We're taking the scenic route to File Hunter's Paradise.

These downloads are not your typical light-weight PDFs that lack substance and are generally not worth the bytes it took to bring them into existence.

Take a look at this, for example...

No, siree, Bob --- these are highly useful files that bring value BIG TIME!!

Most have been rated good to excellent by people who have already downloaded them so you can use their opinion to help you decide whether they hold potential value for you.

I am sharing a generous number of links to Gumroad downloads I hand-picked for you to enjoy. To make it easier, I categorized them by topic/subject content.

And later, I also show how you can find huge numbers of additional downloads just like these by using similar keywords I used to find all this.

But first, an overview (from my own perspective):

THE GOOD

Most of the downloads are pretty straight-forward. Just click the DOWNLOAD or DOWNLOAD ALL button to download a zipped folder with all the files. Other options include saving to Dropbox if you have an account there.

Some offers take you to the creator's Notion-based website where you can set up a free account to save the content rather than download it.

THE BAD

If you're like me and haven't learned to use Notion yet, it can be very frustrating to be sent to that site. It's not like ordinary web browsing. You've got to click little black arrows to open content fields and sometimes you can't see everything clearly in a panel and there is little direction to help.

I even uttered a few choice cuss words the first time I found myself stuck with no clear instructions on what to do and many of the creators barely speak English (you can tell by the way the product offer is worded), so you're essentially stuck.

Over time, it may get easier but unless you've dealt with sites like this before, it's going to be hit-and-miss as you learn to navigate.

Looks to me like Notion just wants to make sh*t harder than it needs to be!

THE UGLY

Notion isn't free (at least, not with all the bells-and-whistles) but you can register a free account fairly easily and that may be all you need unless you plan to create content and sell it on that platform.

Again, I don't know how to navigate in Notion and so far, I don't like it. I won't be upgrading my account but it helps that I can click on Duplicate in the upper right corner of the browser on a page I'm sent to by the offer creator. That transfers a copy of Notion templates, course content created in Notion and such to my free Notion account. I can then sign out and do it again for each additional offer that sends me to Notion. My library of stuff builds and I can see it in the left hand column panel on the site. I can then go in and consume it or wait until I learn how to get around to make it easier but (at least) I've got what I wanted --- all in one place.

I won't sweat Notion for now. There are courses and tutorials on file share sites on how to use it and that's my next step.

But while I'm on the ugly, here's something else that's strange...

Some products come with license keys but there's no where to input that information (and the creators don't even mention it!). You don't seem to need them.

But will eventually find a license key when you begin downloading these products, so be sure to make a text document with the product name, any website links and the license code for whenever you will need it.

Now, back to the focus of this share...

Keep in mind the creators of these offers will sometimes set a recommended minimum price they'd like to see you buy it at yet there will be a price tag to the left of the description. This only means it's up to you. Buy it if you want - at a price you feel is fair - or simply put $0 in the text input field then click the black "I want this!" button and that's all it takes.

Some creators of free/zero-dollar offers will remind you that they'd love it if you "tipped" them with whatever coins you can spare but if money is tight, just put zero in the price field. It's always good to support the vendors so do so if you can but you shouldn't feel obligated to.

Sellers who won't accept anything less than the price they set will have that number on the price tag and there is nothing you can do to overwrite it.

You can also leave a rating (0 to 5 stars) for the items you download. This helps the vendors attract new customers when their offers earn good/great ratings.

On the rare occasion, you will find some offers to be either expired or the website taken down or the item/offer unavailable (sold out). Just find another one --- goodness knows you'll have options.

The only downside I find with this method is the ennui of clicking all those "I want this!" buttons, completing CAPTCHAs and typing in your email over and over again. But I'm not complaining --- I've found some great value in these downloads so it's worth the hassle.

STEP 1: Do a Google search like this:

You can use either but you will get more results from the first search. I prefer asking Google to search for products already set at $0 (rather than the "name a fair price") because you need to weed through the listings to find the freebies.

Also, trying to get an offer at zero-cost isn't fair for a product priced to sell because the Gumroad page will not respond when you try to override a price ($2, for example) with $0.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In my searches like this, I've found some pretty valuable-looking offers that were competitively priced. So my advice is, if you have discretionary funds for something like this, it doesn't hurt to support the suppliers and spend a few dollars here-and-there for what you really want. Seems like a good deal to me and I plan to pay for a few items this way. If you're sheepish about putting your bankcard details on yet another website, you can pay using PayPal for your Gumroad purchases.

STEP 2: [Optional] Add one or two choice keywords to get better results and cut down on time spent trudging through results you aren't even remotely interested in. Skip this step if you have time on your hands. I usually omit this step because it yields plenty of valuable surprise downloads.

STEP 3: Follow the link(s) to the Gumroad website then:

3-1: Read the product description
3-2: Check out the rating (to help you decide your interest in downloading it)
3-3: Check out the price (if you see a tag with a dollar value or one is pre-populated in the "name a fair price" input field, you can try to override it by putting 0 there and see what happens.

IMPORTANT: So look for the $0 price tag to the left of the offer description and even IF the creator suggests a dollar value in the input field, you are allowed to override that amount by paying zero dollars.

3-4: Click the black button that reads: "I want this" to be taken to the next page, where you'll input a valid email. If it doesn't budge and you're stuck on the product description page, be sure you're not trying to get someone's $49 to $350 course for zero dollars because that ain't gonna work. You'll need to move on to the next product.

3-5: Input a valid email address and click the black "Get this" button. You may be asked to complete a CAPTCHA puzzle ... do that. You should then end up on a page where your download options are displayed. Usually, you can download one or multiple files as a zipped archive, send the file(s) to Kindle or (if you have a Notions account) save it there.

3-6: Get your download(s).

NOTE: A receipt will be sent to your email address for this "purchase." Don't be confused by this --- it's a standard action because most files on Gumroad are at-cost. Your receipt will show a $0. You may want to keep the email for a few weeks in case you forgot where you saved the file. You can click the first black button in the email to get back to the download site (usually by typing in the valid email you used to "buy" it).

SPECIAL NOTE: If there is more than one product offer on the page and some are at-cost, be sure to click the tier for the $0 item(s) and if there are any at-cost products on your checkout page, look for a small text link that reads: REMOVE --- click it to remove any items you do not plan to pay for. I had to do that on one offer, so you may come to that result as well.

You can also do a Google search using the same keywords from the PART 1 method described above but instead of getting websites, you click the button labeled IMAGES under the search input field. This way, Google will show images, where available, for your search criteria.

To reach the site to read more or get the download, click either the image or the text beneath it. You would then follow the same steps we've already gone over to get the download.

Image searches is a quick way to see preview the download images before you even visit the site. In some cases, this helps in making a decision on whether you want to proceed...in part, at least, based on what the item looks like.

NOTE: The "name a fair price" keyword phrase gets you a combination of free and at-cost offers so you will need to browse for the $0 offers.

GUMROAD SEARCH USING
2 FILE SHARE SITES

[If you can use premium links, there's a ton more Gumroad products you can download. Most are for things like graphic images and design tutorials but you can fine-tune your searches to find ebooks, mini-course tutorials and more..

The first site I suggest you use is Ebookee.

STEP 1: Go here:

Another good site for finding Gumroad goodies is Soft Archive.

STEP 2: In the search field on either site, type this single word and execute the search to get results:

HERE'S A TIP: On Ebookee, don't forget to click the tiny numbered tags along the bottom of the browser page. Those lead to more results but the further you go from page 0, the less relevant the content will be to matching your specific search terms.

Then fill in as many of the fields that open in the window that opens. For example, when I first searched Soft Archive with: gumroad workbook, nothing came up. But after using the Advanced Search function, I left gumroad as the main search word but added workbook as an additional keyword. And that resulted in 1,241 hits with 1,175 of those files being ebooks.

STEP 3: Browse the listings that are returned and follow links of interest to the product description page to read more. You will find the download buttons near the middle-to-bottom of the page.

STEP 4: Copy and paste any links that are supported by your debrid app into the window on the screen opened to your debrid account.
NOTE: If you use Real-Debrid, you can check the display of supported hosts at the bottom-right of the page inside your account. I can tell you that I have the most success using [Reported by Members as premium hosting that SUCK! Use MEDIAFIRE or MEGA.NZ :) !!!] links but just the opposite with Nitroflare. You can hover your mouse over an icon to read the host site name. If one link is dead, try another.

LAYNA'S TIP: If an ebook you are trying to download is not available, check for it on either Library Genesis (https://libgen.is) or PDF Drive (https://pdfdrive.com) or other ebook file share site.

STEP 5: Plug the premium link(s) into the window and click the UNRESTRICT MY FILES button and wait a few seconds for the links to turn to either red bars (dead files/files not on server) or green bars (download ready).

STEP 6: [Optional] Right-click on the file you downloaded and rename it to something that more accurately matches the content. This is completely up to you; you can name your folder/directory with a name that better describes the ebook, course or other content and just dump the files there, leaving their native names intact.

STEP 7: Repeat from STEP 1 for the next download.

@All: I want to thank each of you who posted (as well as everybody who sent reps my way). It took me over a couple of days to pull all these links together but, believe it or not, that's just a smidgen of what's out there and that's why I added the sections on finding more using the search engines and going to those two file share websites (if you can use premium links).

The only thing I'm upset about is losing all my images in this post. I had it looking just the way I wanted it to and this morning, I'm met with all these ugly blue boxes instead.

UPDATE: I just went back and added one image per category for all the Gumroad links. If suddenly those images turn to ugly text links or blue boxes, I'll take them down again.

This time, I was sure to log in and then upload the images to my PostImages account. Let's see how that works.

But this share is simply to make you aware that you can find lots of interesting downloads on Gumroad. And if you can get them for zero cost, that makes them even more exciting!
