For example when you're reading an interesting
book you simply can't put down or watching an interesting movie - you're
probably in the higher end of Alpha brain wave pattern.

Then, there's even slow brainwave pattern Theta.
Your brain switches into Theta gear when you're fully asleep. Your
body begins to heal itself, your immune system is releasing hormones your
body needs and... your body re-energizes itself. You usually see dreams
when you're in the Theta state.

The last brainwave pattern is called Delta.
It's associated with deep and dreamless sleep. Your body releases even
more highly beneficial chemicals your body needs including the Human Growth
hormone.

I went through the Sleep material and to summarize(i will test this on my friend as he is a zombie and needs to fix his sleep):

-Drink more then 6+ glasses of water daily
-Get at least 2 hour sunlight exposure daily
-When you wake up get up quickly dont prolong
-After you wake up try to go for a 15-30 min walk,try to walk for 1-2 hours each day
-Workout before work/study
-Try to go to sleep at the same time and wake up at same time each day
-Listen to 1st mp3 30 days in a row, when you are going to sleep(eyes closed),not on loop
-Listen to 2nd mp3 when you are studying/learning(eyes opened),can loop
-Listen to 3rd mp3 before you are going to workout or as a energy booster,not on loop
(my tip:As you are ready to get into bed,put a little(micro) bit of salt on your tongue then bring it to your palate and hold there in a relaxed manner and drift off to sleep,or listening to the mp3).

More Notes:

-Dump your sleeping/depresion medicine
-No caffein late in day
-Lower body temperature(shower,foot massage,wash feet)
-Unless u take the proper actions to optimize your body temperature, it will usually return to the same pattern
-Qi gong,Massage,Relax
-After you wake up expose your face to sunglight for 1-2mins
-Use your bed for sleep and sexual activity only. Do not use the bedroom for TV watching, working, phoning, or arguing. If you must read or watch TV to fall asleep, then limit that to no more than 20 minutes
-If you don’t fall asleep within 30 minutes of turning out the lights, then get up out of bed. Go sit in another room and read or do another quiet activity until you feel drowsy. Lying in bed, tossing and turning, will only cause anxiety and deepen the insomnia association you already have with your bed.
-No eating,exercise 3 hours before sleep
-Exercise delays the body temperature “drop” in the evening, allowing you to stay awake and alert longer without feeling tired and drowsy
-If you take a hot bath or shower, you must take it at least 60-90 minutes before going to sleep, not less. When you take a hot shower, your body temperature rises very quickly.This is why you feel so refreshed and awake after a hot shower in the morning.However, after this quick rise, the body temperature rhythm begins to fall quickly inresponse after about 60 minutes. This is why we usually feel tired and lethargic in the first hour in the morning
-If you eat a highcarbohydrate meal, you are more likely to feel sleepy. If you eat a high protein meal,you are more likely to feel energized. This is because the digestion of carbohydrates produces serotonin and serotonin produces sleep. The digestion of protein blocks serotonin production and helps you stay alert.
-Vit B,magnesium food/supplementation
-Use earplugs,Wear a sleeping eye mask,full dark room,dont sleep on front !
