RE:
Are there any issues regarding sales tax with this system? I'm not really sure what, if anything, I'd need to do about that, short of requiring it from buyers who live in my state. Any thoughts from Quasar or anyone else?

(01-29-2014 08:12 AM)Extor Wrote: Questions:Hi, I know the answers to some of these (a change, I know ). I'm non-US resident, btw Amazon seller = no idea, I just have an account as a buyer, which is what you need in this particular strategy, I think ebay seller = to enable you selling cross-borders (eg Canada resident to sell to US market), you have to have min 25 positive feedback scores in one year. These are feedback that are given to you (either as a buyer or seller). Ebay does not count the fb you give others. Once you hit the 25 in one year, you can sell cross border as much as you want (of course since ebay charges extra for this...) If you don't have this 25 yet, you are limited to sell 10 items (1 each), then you won't be allowed to sell to the US market anymore. cheers chuckles Pls [+rep] me if I've helped you

RE:
Quasar, +rep given, waiting for your pm...
Also wanted to thank you for your posts. This took me a long time to learn myself...success in internet marketing usually depends on two things...a combination of working hard and smart (like you mentioned with outsourcing) and looking for solutions instead of problems. If someone is lazy then every time an opportunity comes their way they'll either ignore it, distract themselves with something else or dismiss it by thinking about what can potentially go wrong. Where as successful people just focus on the possible benefits, start testing the idea right away, and using the feedback they get then they decide whether its worth pursuing further or moving on to something else. Another thing that a lot of people take for granted is the value of sharing knowledge. I cannot believe how many times someone shares a free method or product on this forum and I see in the comments someone else saying how bad the method is and how it would never work. It's so annoying. Even if its the worst method ever or something that's already been shared...you have to understand that op took the time to actually sit there and make post and share it with you...if nothing else they deserve some gratitude just for that, the fact that they took action and are actually sharing something when they could of just leached and never posted started thread in first place. Also if you read a method and don't use it right away, its fine, the ideas kind of stay in the back of your head and become useful sooner or later. Like even if you're not interested in ebay or amazon...the idea of arbitrage has so many applications in so many other fields. Arbitrage can be used for all kinds of white label services, where you sell a service and outsource the work to someone who does it cheaper, in fact a ton of offline marketers offer SEO services to businesses and actually outsource the actual seo work and keep the profits. So to sum up even if this method doesn't workout for you for whatever reason you should always be asking "how can i take the core ideas of this method/system and apply them to something else?" |

RE:
Hey dudes and dudettes!
Thanks for all the kind words - they are always appreciated. Is everyone doing their arbitrage businesses now? Start today - just list one item - even if it takes 21-days to get paid. Do the aspirin gig. Get started! Do it today! - Tomorrow is not promised to you! I have read the latest questions and comments in the thread. Let's see if I can give you some advice about the stuff I know about - which isn't everything. @ersl - Not sure I understand your post entirely. Are you wanting to sell in HK on Ebay? The barrier is Chinese and 50% of the population do not speak it? 1.)What is the estimate of the reach on Ebay - not generally but in Chinese and other dialects? What other languages are spoken or a priority to address/market to? You can use HTML there just like here, right? You do know you can add video, right - in any auction? As long as you can post to Youtube, you can add video with audio - in any language. (I have the script to plug them into any auction.) 2) Run simultaneous auctions in Chinese and the other major dialects. Same auctions - two languages. 3.) You can use animated gifs - they won't have audio, but you can have multiple gifs running - in different languages. @Extor and lauro - Did not care for Tony's ADD newsletter. There are major flaws. 1.) DVDs are a tough gig! You really have to be able to source extremely well and delivery times make it problematic. Most of all, the margins are too small for me and arbitrage. WITH ONE major exception - out-of-print dvds. Don't have time to explain it here, but vintage movie buffs are always looking for that one hard to find dvd - and will pay obscene money to get them. 2.) Did any of you try the tungsten band thing? It is a total NO-GO in the U.S. I did the research, and can get them wholesale for less than $10 - and the selling prices on Ebay suck. 3.) I DO NOT care about Amazon's HOT LIST! It is irrelevant to me for this kind of arbitrage. If it doesn't sell on Ebay, it does not matter how hot it is on Amazon. There are lots of other forms of arbitrage where it does matter - other venues and ways to sell. We are not going there yet. 4) Like you, I do not believe Tony had his marketing cap on about this newsletter. At $17, it is way over-priced. I cancelled it and will probably not buy the second issue. It needed to over-deliver in a big way and it fell far short of being worth any amount of money short of $5. I found out how much Tony really knows. @jamzman - I have already covered shrinking the 21-day hold. But have any of you considered printing your PayPal statement and treating it as a receivable? It is an account receivable, right? Offer a family member, friend or anyone you trust 10% of the receivable to pay you for it. They make 10% for spotting you the cash and doing nothing - you get cash and a way to do business - everyone is happy. BUT be careful doing this - and ALWAYS put things in writing! @essmeier - sales tax is a thorny issue. A huge war is being waged about it now. I have a tax attorney/CPA and ask him about it. His response is: he doesn't know. The problem is thousands of taxing districts, no manpower, and administering the process for every retailer, taxpayer and every state. It is a logistical nightmare. Do I think it will happen? YES. But not soon. I am not overly concerned about it because it will be an increase in the cost of sales, which always happens. We just had an increase in the cost of postage. Life will go on. I am never the lowest priced seller on Ebay anyway. So, it is no big deal - DO NOT MAKE IT AN EXCEPTION! For the many of you that want to sell from your country into the U.S. As long as you establish yourself as a solid seller where you are at, you can sell anywhere you want - for extra fees, of course. There are thousands of Canadians, Chinese, British, Australians, etc. that are successfully selling in the U.S. There are even special forms of arbitrage that apply to you in other countries that want to do this - just as there are many opportunities for US sellers to sell in other countries. But those are subjects that will be addressed somewhere down the road - for now. I hope this addresses some of your concerns. Rock and Roll! Quasar - Out for Now!
