Need Refferals

Over the past 4 years i've been working with this online dating company, that allows you to easily build all kinds of dating websites and get 55 % of the earnings.
Until now i've been working myself for the websites.
However recently i've been talking with this guy who makes about 10 times more money than i do, and basically doesn't do nothing at all.
All he's been doing was getting lots of good refferals when the company first started, and now enjoys his 10% from all of them. He doesn't need more as he won't be able to be so elusive with tax controls, which are getting very heavy nowadays in Italy.

My question would be about how could i get a good amount of referrals and hopefully some of them will actually bring me some money.

p.s. When i first got into IM i was spending all my free time on it, always wanting more money, always studying new methods, looking for new ideas, trying new tools. Then i reached a plateau and only this dating company was actually working for me, then i went to university and basically stopped to look for more and i got distracted by other things. Now i think that i should continue with what works for me, that's why i wanna upgrade my old dating business
