My name is Bill Guthrie. I’m a full-time marketer, strategist and coach. I make my living through several different income streams, but not as a professional copywriter. I learned so much from my time there, and when I quit that job nearly 2 years ago, I brought with me a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience: I had created wildly successful campaigns for some of the biggest, most famous brands in the United States.

So bringing all my wisdom and skills to the “open web,” and teaching people just like you how to “crush it” online should have been a piece of apple pie,right?

Well, not exactly. Let me explain what I discovered (through a lot of surveys and one-on-one discussions with my customers).

• 31.6% of you have never made a penny online, and
• 47.7% of you make less than $500 a month via online marketing
• 12.4% of you state that there’s “not enough time to do everything that’s required” for success, while
• 14.6% admitted that “it’s hard to focus on a singe task”

• 65.8% want to work no more than 20 hours a week on their online business

I realized that I had my work cut out for me if I truly intended on bringing positive change to my customers. What came naturally and almost intuitively to me, for others was difficult or completely foreign.

I also discovered that relying on the search engines for traffic to affiliate offers just wasn’t working any more. With Google showing signs of schizophrenia, along with an increased distrust and loathing for affiliate websites, the majority of my customers couldn’t get enough traffic to even make sales (which explains why a whopping 79.3% of them make less than $500 a month online).

But entrepreneurs don’t give up.

We adapt. We evolve. We pull from experience, from our common sense and our understanding of human behavior, and we create meaningful solutions to everyday problems.

So in true entrepreneurial fashion, I went back to my roots at the digital agency, to the very campaigns and strategies that we were paid tens of thousands of dollars to create and implement.

I linger on this topic because it’s important that you come to grips with the reality of the situation. Gone are the days where you can grab an exact match domain, throw up a page or two of content, target a couple of juicy keywords, and skyrocket to the top of the rankings.

And the saddest part is that there are still a lot of people out there selling the promise of “rank for any term” SEO, preying on your hopes that you can do nothing and get rich in the process.

All right, with that out of the way, let’s get back to those 151 students I started working with in April. I showed them something that required:

No Original Content. Creating content can be a huge time-suck for marketers, and the option of paying for content is a hit-and-miss scenario most of the time. So I showed them how to collect endless amounts of content their audience would enjoy seeing.
NO Search Engine Escapades. As I mentioned earlier, I’m fed up with turning over control to Google and Bing. Now my students could care less about SEO and they still get thousands of visitors each day.
No Website. It may be hard to believe, but you really don’t need a website to succeed online these days. And with no website, you don’t have to worry about design, hosting, hackers, lag time, page speed, and the dozens of other “webmaster headaches” out there. Of course, you can leverage a website within my system, but it’s not essential at all.

And given everyone’s limited time they want to work each week, my system:

Can be Up and Running in an Hour or Two. Granted, I encouraged all my students to take it slow the first time through. But the reality is they probably spent more time going through my training than actually implementing the system (because I really wanted to make sure they understood everything perfectly).
Only Takes a Few Minutes a Day to Maintain. I do my daily “work” while eating breakfast each morning. I taught my students to either block out a couple of hours each week and do weekly “work” all at once, or to do it daily in quick bursts. Either way is fine.
